Kansas State has landed a commitment from former Cal State Fullerton guard Max Jones, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.

Jones was an underrated high school prospect who spent the first two seasons of his college career before transferring to Cal State Fullerton. Spending two more seasons Titans before deciding to transfer once again, deciding to play for Jerome Tang and the K-State Wildcats for the final season of eligibility in his collegiate career.

He burst onto the scene as a true freshman at Tampa, averaging 22.6 points in a seven game season shortened by COVID-19. Named the Sunshine State Conference Freshman of the Year, a member of the First-Team All-SSC Team, and the SSC All-Newcomer Team. Averaging 21.9 points per game the following season before taking his talents to the west coast for Cal State Fullerton.

In year one with the Titans he earned All-Big West honorable mention honors after starting in all 32 of his game appearances for the 2022-2023 season. Averaging 12.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game to help lead CSF to the Big West Championship Game as the teams second leading scorer.

He served in the same role this past season while increasing his scoring output to 15.3 points per game. Scoring in double-figures 17 times including six 20+ point scoring games and 30 point scoring outing against Nebraska. As he’ll look to add an offensive spark to the Wildcats lineup this upcoming season.

Jones played high school hoops at Clearwater High School in Florida where he was an unranked, unrated recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

But after entering the NCAA transfer portal this offseason, Richmond was a three-star college prospect ranked as the No. 355 overall player and the No. 71 shooting guard available in the portal this offseason according to On3’s College Basketball Transfer Portal Top Player Rankings.
