Nebraska trending for 4-star RB Jamarion Parker
Saint Louis (Mo.) Cardinal Ritter College Prep four-star running back Jamarion Parker backed off his longtime commitment to Arkansas back in March after changes on the Razorbacks’ staff.
But even prior to that, schools were working hard to flip the nation’s No. 24 prospect and No. 4 recruit in the state of Missouri. Last month, he told On3’s Chad Simmons that Alabama, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, Michigan, Nebraska, South Carolina and TCU are just some of the program he’s been in contact with.
“Relationships and the chance to play matter to me,” Parker told Simmons “I want to go to a place where I am comfortable. I don’t want to be anywhere where I am uncomfortable.”
One of the schools who has arguably been pushing the hardest for him is Nebraska, where he visited both in January and March. He is also returning to the Cornhuskers’ campus for an official visit between June 21-23. And the Huskers are the school trending right now in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
In early April, On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong logged a pick in favor of the Huskers, and Nebraska insiders Bryan Munson and Sean Callahan soon followed suit.
“I still like the On3 RPM in favor of Nebraska for Jamarion Parker,” Wiltfong followed up on Monday. “He is one of the next that could potentially jump into the fold.”
“Nebraska right now is in the lead because they’ve been consistently on him and building a relationship with him,” Cardinal Ritter head coach Brennan Spain told him.
Connection with Nebraska staff has the Huskers in good shape
Parker has already bonded with Nebraska running backs coach E.J. Barthel. The rest of the Cornhuskers’ staff is also treating the four-star like a top priority, which is a key reason why Nebraska high on his list, he told Simmons last month.
“The coaches, they make sure that you know that they want you and that you mean something there,” Parker said.
“They are showing me a lot of love,” he added. “It is from the running backs coach to all of the staff.”
Parker is the No. 321 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
He also has an official visit locked in with TCU, where former Arkansas RBs coach Jimmy Smith is now. And he’s also looking at OVs to both South Carolina and Alabama, he previously told Simmons.
