Today is race day, which is always important. Daniel Suárez is getting ready for an even bigger challenge, his U.S. citizenship exam! The NASCAR driver is set to take the test on Monday after this weekend at Dover.

Daniel Suárez has lived in America for over a decade. He is the epitome of the American Dream. He has had his struggles professionally but has never given up on his dreams of being in NASCAR or an American citizen.

The culmination of all of that hard work is finally coming. In the Cup Series, he’s a two-time winner. He is an Xfinity Series champion. So, let’s add another accolade to Suárez’s name – U.S. citizen.

Check out Daniel answering some questions about the constitution and how the government functions in the United States.

This season has gone well for Daniel Suárez. Well, for the most part. He struggled in the few races before Texas. With that Atlanta win in his back pocket, he’s going to be just fine. He is a driver that thrives more in the latter part of the Cup Series schedule.

Before he takes his exam, Suárez will have to battle with the Monster Mile. It is a track that has given him fits in the past. If he wants to walk away with a solid finish he will have to work his way through traffic.

Daniel Suárez starting P31 at Dover

Now, I don’t want to be too gloom and doom about Daniel Suárez’s chances today at Dover. Yes, he is starting P31. That is not a spot anyone wants to be in. The only other time Suárez started this far back at Dover was in 2020 when he raced for the Gaunt Brothers. He started P31 and finished P28.

In the ARCA Menards Series and Xfinity Series races, we saw a number of cautions. However, I fear the Cup Series drivers are too talented and the Next Gen car too consistent to see the same thing today.

If this race does get a little chaotic, then that will open the door for drivers like Suárez to move up. Last year, his day ended in an accident, that is the only DNF he has ever had at Dover in the Cup Series.

Daniel Suárez has a big couple of days ahead of him. First, the Monster Mile. Then, the U.S. citizenship exam.
