Pat McAfee has been a staple for Indiana sports ever since he was a punter for the Colts in the mid-2000s. Sunday afternoon he was at Gainbridge Fieldhouse to celebrate a massive moment for the Indiana Pacers.

With the Pacers leading the New York Knicks by a score of 101-63 entering the fourth quarter of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, McAfee grabbed the mic on court. He then delivered a passionate message to the crowd with their hometown team just 12 minutes away from tying the series 2-2.

“Indianapolis, Indiana, we’re up 38 points going into the fourth quarter,” McAfee roared into the mic. “Are we gonna shut it down or are we gonna turn this sh*t up?! Let’s blow the roof off this place!”

The Pacers would go on to coast to a 121-89 victory to even the series. It marked their second straight win after they also took Game 3 at home on Friday.

Indiana was dominant from the start Sunday and rolled out to a 34-14 advantage by the end of the first quarter. The Pacers had six players finish the game in double figures, including 15 points and 10 assists off the bench for TJ McConnell.

Game 5 of the series between the Knicks and Pacers will take place at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden In New York City. Although Pat McAfee and the rest of the crowd have proved a big boost for Indiana recently, it will ultimately have to win at least one game on the road to take the series.

Depending on what happens Tuesday, the Pacers could find themselves in position to close things out at home in Game 6 on Friday.

Pat McAfee doused with water after winning West Virginia spring game

Pat McAfee had quite the experience at West Virginia’s spring game over the weekend. He led the Gold Team to a victory over the Blue Team, coached by WVU legend Pat White.

After the game, McAfee received a gatorade bath, or well, it was water from a Gatorade jug. Heck, the former Mountaineers’ punter and sports media sensation needed ice water at that point!

He was out frolicking around his alma mater the night before, making sure fans rooted for his team. Or something like that.

“Way to go gold team,” McAfee said on his show Monday. “Everybody knew what was happening in the first half of that game. But those refs and Pat White, who built the place and everything, it was taking place. I think it was like six to maybe 14 calls against my team but zero calls for my team in the first half. How the hell does that happen?”
