Former Mississippi State receiver Lideatrick “Tulu” Griffin is signing an undrafted free agent deal with the Las Vegas Raiders, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Griffin had a productive handful of seasons for the Bulldogs, capped by his best year yet as a senior in 2023.

During his final year with the Bulldogs, Griffin recorded 50 catches for 658 yards and four touchdowns. He also debuted as a runner out of the backfield, seeing 17 carries for 74 yards and a touchdown.

The Mississippi State standout combined to record 126 career catches for 1,490 yards and nine touchdowns. He also served as the occasional return man, logging a pair of touchdown returns on kickoffs.

Prior to enrolling at Mississippi State, Griffin was a four-star prospect and the No. 232 overall recruit in the 2020 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

He also checked in as the No. 43 receiver in the class and the No. 4 overall player in the state of Mississippi, hailing from Philadelphia (MS) Philadelphia.

Griffin will look to carve out a role in Las Vegas in a receiver room which includes Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers.

What NFL Draft analysts are saying about Tulu Griffin

Though he’s an excellent athlete, the overall size for Griffin might be problematic at the next level depending on how well he rounds out the rest of his game.

Griffin checks in at just 5 foot 10, 181 pounds.

Here’s what Lance Zierlein of NFL.com had to say in evaluating Griffin:

“The draft grade is lower than the flashes on tape, but projecting the ceiling seems a little too risky with his evaluation. Griffin is on the thinner side, but he’s a willing run finisher after the catch and as a kick returner. He’s a gifted athlete with explosive acceleration and the tools to become a challenging man cover option.

“Griffin doesn’t play with nearly enough focus and will cruise through routes rather than finishing them with tempo. While the tools are there for him to become a more well-rounded receiver, Griffin might not develop into much more than a specialty receiver with kick-return value.”
