It is unclear if Drake will stay loyal to Kentucky basketball after John Calipari’s departure, but Big Blue Nation now has John Legend in its corner. Legend is the uncle of the Wildcat’s speedy wide receiver, Anthony Brown-Stephens, and don’t think for a second Vince Marrow is going to let a good connection go unused.

At the Club 15 NIL 500 Strong Gala on Friday, contributors to the collective received an intimate concert experience from the music icon. Mark Stoops and Vince Marrow also took the opportunity to present Legend with his own Kentucky Football jersey, complete with his nephew’s No. 5.

KSR’s Michael Huang was on the scene to capture images and video of the event, that featured Legend playing, yes, a piano lit up in blue.

Mark Pope also seized the opportunity to soak in some good music and speak to a crowd of NIL donors. Now that Kentucky’s football and basketball coaches are on speaking terms, Pope took the mic and gave a few inspiring words once Mark Stoops introduced him unexpectedly.

“I’m a die-hard Kentucky fan and watching what Mark Stoops has done over the last decade has just been incredible.” Pope also gave a shoutout to Kerr Kriisa, who was also in attendance. “If you don’t know him, you will.”

In the end, the night belonged to John Legend. The Grammy Award winner tore down the house with song after song, a one-man show for the ages. For everyone in the room, it was a night to remember.
