Kellan Grady joins La Familia, Kentucky Alumni TBT team
Kentucky’s TBT team just added a big-time shooter. Kellan Grady is the sixth former Wildcat to join La Familia, Kentucky’s alumni team that will host a TBT regional in Rupp Arena July 19-23. Grady played for Kentucky in the 2021-22 season after four years at Davidson. He spent his rookie season with the Grand Rapids Gold, the G League affiliate of the Denver Nuggets, and most recently played for Chorale Roanne Basket in France’s top division.
La Familia now includes Grady (2021-22), Marquis Teague (2011-12), Willie Cauley-Stein (2012-15), Doron Lamb (2010-12), Eric Bledsoe (2009-10), and Reid Travis (2018-19). The rest of the roster will be announced over the coming months. Twany Beckham, who played for Kentucky from 2011-13, will serve as the team’s general manager.
In his lone season in Lexington, Grady started all 34 games, averaging 11.4 points per game while shooting a career-high 41.5% from three-point range. At Davidson, he earned all Atlantic 10 honors each season. Adding in his graduate season at Kentucky, Grady finished his college career ranked No. 111 in all-time scoring with 2,389 points.

Eight regional sites will host the 64 teams in this year’s TBT bracket. For the fifth straight summer, a winner-takes-all grand prize of $1 million will go to the championship team. Lexington hosted a regional site back in 2019 at Frederick Douglass High School, but this will be the first time it’s held at Rupp Arena (July 19-24).
Since TBT began in 2014, it has awarded more than $13M in prize money and has been viewed in more than 180 countries around the world. Alumni teams have won TBT’s championship in four of the past five summers, with teams representing Ohio State, Marquette, Syracuse, and the University of Buffalo taking home the $1M prize between 2019-2022.
TBT is also the home of the Elam Ending, the alternate ending to games where teams play to a target score.
