Oklahoma running back transfer Daylan Smothers commits to NC State

Oklahoma running back Daylan “Hollywood” Smothers has committed to NC State, he announced on social media.

Smothers spent just one year at Oklahoma and did not record any statistics before opting to enter the NCAA transfer portal and seek a new opportunity.

But he was a highly regarded recruit in the 2023 class, so the Wolfpack will have a lot of raw talent to work with.

Prior to enrolling at Oklahoma, Daylan Smothers was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 379 overall recruit in the 2023 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

He also checked in as the No. 26 running back in the class and the No. 14 overall player in the state of North Carolina, hailing from Charlotte (NC) West Charlotte.

With his transfer to NC State, now he’ll be playing a little closer to home.
