Pickerington (Ohio) Central three-star tight end Tayvion Galloway has committed to Purdue.

He chose the Boilermakers following his decommitment from LSU on June 11. Arkansas, Colorado, Louisville, Miami and UCF were also in contention for the 6-foot-4, 218-pounder.

Galloway is the No. 458 overall prospect and No. 28 TE in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 17 player in Ohio.

He took an official visit to West Lafayette on June 20. Now, he’s set to make the move from Ohio to Indiana to play under new head coach Ryan Walters. Galloway was one of the top-ranked tight ends left on the board.

Galloway does not currently have an On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Galloway joins Boilermakers’ Top-30 recruiting class

The addition of Galloway makes 24 total commitments for Walters and Co. The Boilermakers’ class ranks No. 28 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking.

Headlining the class is Cincinnati La Salle four-star cornerback Koy Beasley, the No. 118 overall prospect and No. 14 CB in the cycle. Purdue’s class is jam-packed with defensive backs, as four cornerbacks and four safeties equal 33% of the pledge list.

The long list of DBs joining Beasley in the secondary includes Naperville (Ill.) North four-star safety Luke Williams, Clinton (Tenn.) three-star safety D’Mon Marable and Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas three-star CB Earl Kulp.

Galloway is the fifth highest-ranked commit in the Boilermakers’ class. Behind Beasley, Lake Dallas (Texas) four-star wide receiver Keondre Henry and Williams are each top-300 recruits. Midland (Texas) Lee four-star QB Marcos Davila is the No. 22 gunslinger in the cycle and is one of Purdue’s longest commitments, having pledged back in the beginning of March.

Other top commits in the class include Cincinnati Winton Woods three-star WR Tra’Mar Harris, Knoxville (Tenn.) Bearden three-star athlete Jaheim Merriweather, Saint Petersburg (Fla.) Clearwater Central Catholic three-star WR Shamar Rigby and East Saint Louis (Ill.) three-star safety Leontre Bradford.
