Tennessee Volunteers trending for 4-star IOL Max Anderson
Frisco (Texas) Reedy four-star interior offensive lineman Max Anderson narrowed his list of top schools down to eight on March 23. One of those schools has emerged as the new leader in his recruitment.
While Michigan has been the long-time leader for Anderson according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Tennessee has emerged as the new leader following an expert picks from On3 National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman and Michigan Recruiting Insider EJ Holland.
Spiegelman reported on May 12 that Anderson will likely make a decision ahead of his senior year and that it’s currently a three-horse race between Tennessee, Georgia and Oklahoma.
Spiegelman put in a pick for Anderson to Tennessee with a confidence level off 55% and Holland’s pick was at 50%. The Volunteers now sit atop the RPM with a 64.1% chance to land Anderson’s pledge while Michigan sits in a distant second at 33.2%.
Anderson has set official visits to Michigan and Tennessee. He’ll be at Michigan on June 17 and in Knoxville a week later on June 23.
Anderson is the No. 189 overall prospect and No. 12 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 37 player in Texas.
On3 rates Anderson slightly higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, Anderson is the No. 184 overall prospect in the country, the No. 9 interior offensive lineman and the No. 40 player in Texas.

Tennessee building top-10 2024 recruiting class
A commitment from Anderson would be another massive win for Josh Heupel and his coaching staff as they continually build upon their 2024 recruiting class.
The Volunteers’ class currently sits with 11 commitments including six on defense and five offensive pledges. As a whole the class ranks No. 9 in the country and No. 5 in the SEC.
Currently the Volunteers have two offensive line pledges already in Fort Collins (Col.) Fossil Ridge three-star offensive tackle Gage Ginther and Murfreesboro (Tenn.) MTCS three-star offensive tackle Jesse Perry.
Tennessee’s other offensive pledges include Savannah (Ga.) Calvary Day School four-star quarterback Jake Merklinger, IMG Academy four-star tight end Jonathan Echols and Sardis (Miss.) North Panola four-star wide receiver JJ Harrell.
