WATCH: Ja'Marr Chase hauls in game tying touchdown catch in closing seconds of Steelers game
Week one’s game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers has been yet another classic between the two fierce rivals. The Bengals battled back in the second half and Ja’Marr Chase caught a 6-yard touchdown catch from Joe Burrow to tie the game at 20-20. Then, former Florida star Evan McPherson had the extra point blocked, which sent the game to overtime.

Steelers kicker Chris Boswell drilled a game-winning 53-yard kick in the closing seconds of overtime to win the game, 23-20. The Pittsburgh defense forced five turnovers in this one and they jumped in front of the Bengals early, but Cincinnati battled back late to tie it. Pittsburgh was up 17-6 at halftime. Kickers from both teams missed field goal attempts in overtime.
Bengals’ quarterback Joe Burrow had an uncharacteristically sloppy game. He completed 33 of his 54 passing attempts, while tossing two touchdowns and four interceptions. He also had a fumble, giving him five turnovers total for the game.
Chase has posted big-time numbers on Sunday yet again for Cincinnati, hauling in 10 catches for 129 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Chase did some historic damage last year in his rookie season, hauling in 81 catches for 1,455 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. It was a record-setting season for the uber-talented receiver and it’s safe to say, he’s just getting warmed up. Chase is destined to be one of the greatest receivers to ever play the game.
According to the On3 Consensus Rankings for the 2018 cycle, Chase was ranked as the No. 7 receiver in America and the No. 49 overall prospect in the country. He played in the Under Armour All-American Game. During his prolific career for Archbishop Rummel High School (Harvey, La.), Chase hauled in 115 catches for 2,152 receiving yards and 30 touchdowns.
