Utah running back Chris Curry has entered the NCAA transfer portal. He is set to enter his seventh season of college football, the past three of which he spent with the Utes.

Curry appeared in just six games over the past two years as injuries limited his availability. He ends his career in Utah with 38 carries for 189 yards and one touchdown.

The 5-foot-11, 220-pound running back began his college career at LSU in 2018. He stayed in Baton Rouge for three seasons and was a member of the 2019 national championship team. Curry had his best season from a statistical perspective that year as he finished with 189 yards rushing while appearing in 14 games.

As a recruit, Curry was a four-star prospect coming out of Lehigh Senior High School in Lehigh Acres, Florida. He ranked as the No. 382 overall player and No. 31 running back in the 2018 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Chris Curry is the third Utah running back to enter the transfer portal this offseason, joining Hunter Schroeder and Ja’Quinden Jackson. The Utes are set to return Jaylon Glover and Micah Bernard, who missed all but two games due to injury in 2023, at the position.

Utah has seen 23 total players enter the transfer portal this offseason while bringing in 11. The Utes rank No. 40 overall and No. 4 in the Big 12 according to On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings.

Syracuse transfer WR Damien Alford commits to Utah

Syracuse transfer wideout Damien Alford found his new home in the transfer portal on Wednesday evening. The former Orange wide receiver officially committed to the Utah Utes and announced the move on his Twitter page.

The 6-foot-6 wideout was dismissed from Syracuse on Feb. 12.

No reason was provided at the time for why Alford was let go. There’s no doubt that Damien Alford is talented when he’s on the field. During his junior season in 2023, he led the Orange with 33 catches for 610 yards and three touchdowns, while starting all 13 games. Alford was also a team captain for the Orange last season.
