Kentucky is making another run at 2024 five-star forward Jayden Quaintance, KSR has learned.

Originally scheduled for last week, Mark Pope has set up an in-home visit with the former UK signee on Tuesday, a source close to the recruitment confirmed. That meeting comes ahead of the top-five prospect’s visit to Memphis while setting up a trip to Fayetteville to meet with John Calipari and the Razorbacks in the near future.

On3’s Jamie Shaw was the first to break the news Monday evening.

Quaintance originally backed out from his letter of intent to Kentucky on April 10 following Coach Cal’s move to Arkansas. He has since taken an official visit to Louisville while also considering the likes of Missouri and Florida, previous finalists in his initial recruitment.

A source close to the five-star forward told KSR they wanted to hear from the Wildcats when Calipari made the abrupt decision to leave, but decided to open things back up as Mitch Barnhart nailed down a hire. They had loose early conversations with Pope, but things never developed beyond surface-level interest. This move is the first step in ramping up serious discussions between the two sides.

Could Pope reel back in Calipari’s prized signee from the 2024 class? He’s giving it a real shot.
