Kenny Brooks‘ staff for his debut season at Kentucky is coming together.

On Wednesday, the Wildcats’ new women’s basketball head coach announced the hiring of Radvile “Rad” Autukaite. A former Virginia Tech assistant under Brooks, Autukaite will take over as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Kentucky.

“I have had the pleasure to work alongside Coach Brooks for many years and am honored to continue to do so at a high-level program like Kentucky,” Autukaite said in UK’s press release. “I’m so excited to be joining Big Blue Nation and am looking forward to continuing to help grow the legacy that is Kentucky Basketball for years to come!”

Autukaite had been with the Hokies since 2017 when she started as a graduate assistant. She was elevated to player personnel specialist from 2020-22 and then to an assistant coach in 2022-23.

Born and raised in Lithuania, Autukaite played guard for the Lithuanian National Team at the U16, U18, and U20 levels. She moved to the United States in 2013 to play basketball. Autukaite earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Reinhardt University (GA) in 2015 and then her MBA with a sports management concentration from Webber International University (FL) in 2017.

Her coaching career started Webber as a graduate assistant coach for two seasons. Autukaite joined Virginia Tech in 2017 and also earned a Masters in Instructional Design and Technology in 2020. She will continue to work on PhD in the same area at UK.

Autukaite is known as an excellent player developer at the guard position. Most notably, she played a significant role in helping Georgia Amoore — who recently transferred to Kentucky — grow into a Third Team All-American this past season.

Joining Autukaite in Lexington next to Brooks for the 2024-25 season will be Lindsey Hicks, who Brooks announced as his associate head coach on Wednesday.
