Kentucky Gymnastics advances to the NCAA Regional Final

The Kentucky Gymnastics team is still in the hunt for a national championship. Yesterday, the No. 7 seed Cats and the No. 10 seed Arkansas Razorbacks advanced to the NCAA Regional Final as the top two finishers in the Session I semifinal at Bud Walton Arena.

Kentucky finished with a score of 197.100 and Arkansas 197.325 to knock out Nebraska (196.600) and Arizona (196.500). The Cats and the Razorbacks will face the top two teams in Session II, No. 2 seed LSU and No. 15 seed Minnesota, on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET. The two teams with the highest scores will advance to the NCAA National Semifinals and Championship April 18-20 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Fifth-year senior Raena Worley led the way for the Cats on Thursday, earning her 30th career all-around title with a 39.450 overall score and her 27th-floor individual win for a 9.950 score in the floor exercise. Kentucky had six of the top ten scores in the vault and two of the top three scores in the balance beam. Check out the highlights of the meet below:

Freshman Creslyn Brose, who tied with senior Isabella Magnelli for second in the balance beam, had the honor of moving Kentucky’s name to the next round on the giant bracket in Bud Walton Arena.
