A familiar name will headline the next Railbird music festival. The lineup for the 2024 event dropped this morning and Kentucky native Chris Stapleton is one of the main performers, along with Noah Kahan, Hozier, and Turnpike Troubadours.

Over 30 artists will take the stages at The Infield at Red Mile on June 1 and 2, 2024, including Counting Crows, Wynonna Judd, Marcus King, Lord Huron, Dwight Yoakam, Elle King, and Trampled by Turtles. The presale begins Thursday, Dec. 7 at Noon ET. You can sign up for it on Railbird’s website.

If you’re like me and asking, “Who is Noah Kahan,” he was the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” last week. Check out his latest hit, “Stick Season”:

Chris Stapleton returns to his old stomping grounds

Stapleton headlined the first-ever concert at Kroger Field in 2022, an event first set for 2020 but postponed multiple times due to the pandemic. Since then, he has skyrocketed to superstardom, becoming one of the most popular acts across all musical genres. He’s won eight Grammy Awards, ten Academy of Country Music Awards, fourteen Country Music Association Awards, and five Billboard Music Awards.

Stapleton’s latest album, Higher, was released last month and quickly went to No. 1 on the Billboard country charts. His reach even extends to Monday Night Football.

Not bad for a kid from Staffordsville, Kentucky. Stapleton has never forgotten his roots, donating over $1 million of proceeds from his Kroger Field concert to his Outlaw State of Kind Hometown Fund, which benefits a variety of causes in Eastern Kentucky. He also participated in the Kentucky Rising Benefit Concert at Rupp Arena in October 2022 alongside fellow Eastern Kentucky natives Tyler Childers and Dwight Yoakam, the proceeds of which went to the victims of the floods that past summer.

As we look forward to next summer’s Railbird, let’s flashback to the fall of 1995 when Stapleton, a linebacker for Johnson Central, lined up across from Tim Couch and Leslie County. Hit play below and let the KSR YouTube Channel paint the scene.
