Over the last two recruiting cycles, diehard Kentucky football fans spent the summer wondering why the Wildcats were lagging behind the competition. Mark Stoops’ staff played catch-up well to close hard with big-time commitments. In the 2025 recruiting class, Kentucky is building early momentum ahead of an important summer.

Vince Marrow laid the foundation to bring in a significant haul from the state of Ohio in 2025. The biggest fish was Marquise Davis, but it looked like the Cats had some work to do to land the Top 200 running back. Michigan was all in and appeared to be on the right track, hosting Davis for multiple unofficial visits throughout the spring.

The Big Dog is not known for keeping a low profile on the recruiting trail. Marrow showed us he had an ace up his sleeve when Davis shocked the recruiting world, bucking multiple Michigan predictions by committing to Kentucky in a surprise announcement on Kentucky Sports Radio.

The addition of Davis to the 2025 recruiting class is only the beginning.

Kentucky Recruiting Predictions Roll In

Steve Wiltfong is the best in the recruiting business. When he submits a pick into On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), the entire recruiting world takes notice. Following the addition of Davis, a few more Fong Bombs were dropped.

Javeon Campbell is new to the game of football, but he wasted no time turning heads. Not long after the conclusion of his junior year of high school at Western Hills in Frankfort, Notre Dame offered the impressive-looking defensive lineman a scholarship. Within a few months, he’s risen to No. 136 overall in the On300.

In addition to Notre Dame, Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio State entered the fray. The Buckeyes recently made a big push, but it may not be enough to pull Campbell away from his Old Kentucky Home. Wiltfong submitted an RPM for Campbell to Kentucky. The talented athlete is scheduled to officially visit Kentucky on June 7.

But wait — THERE’S MORE!

The player Campbell passed to become the state of Kentucky’s highest-ranked recruit, Martels Carter, also has a pair of RPM picks to Kentucky from Wiltfong and Chad Simmons. The KSR recruiting operation is also bullish on the Cats’ chances to secure a commitment from Carter.

There’s one more player of note for Kentucky football fans, Brody Lennon. A three-star EDGE from Cleveland, Wiltfong submitted an RPM pick for Kentucky, who is battling Penn State and Pitt for his services.

Kentucky’s football recruiting operation is well ahead of schedule.
