Cobey Sellers Leads Viewing Weekend
For the first time this season SoonerScoop.com will be seeing just one game this week but is seeing a target high on the Sooners. That player is Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek cornerback Cobey Sellers. It will be our first chance to see the talented defender in person.

Sellers is the latest Shadow Creek target to get Oklahoma’s attention after it’s rapid ascension in recent years. He’s a cornerback with nice length but shows some good instinct on tape. Aside from his Oklahoma offer he also holds offers from Texas, LSU, Penn State, USC, Washington, and Auburn among many others.
The Sooners played host to Sellers a few weeks ago and he came away impressed with what he saw. It will be interesting to get a longer look at him and seeing just what has made him such a focus for Jay Valai.
In the class of 2024 Shadow Creek also has a trio of seniors that are committed to power five programs. Houston has pledges from both Zion Taylor and Maurice Williams. Meanwhile Nebraska has a commitment from lengthy athlete Braylen Prude.
Prude and Williams are interesting targets that you wonder if the Sooners could take a look at if things go sideways with a few of their own targets going forward.
The Sharks also have a pair of big-time outside 2025 receivers in Ashton Jones and Jacorey Watson. The Sooners are so busy at receiver in the class that it’s unclear whether they could take a look at either but you just never know.
On the defensive side of the ball Shadow Creek also has a pair of prospects with multiple offers – linebacker Anthony Williams and athlete Nigel Pringle. So far there hasn’t been a lot of Oklahoma contact but with Valai present around Sellers it’s not hard to imagine things happening.
