South Carolina loses a signee from 2024 MBB class
South Carolina’s 2024 men’s basketball signing class lost a member Tuesday afternoon when Baxter (K.Y.) Harlan three-star shooting guard Trent Noah announced on social media that he had requested and been granted a release from his National Letter of Intent.

Noah’s post included a statement:
To begin, I would like to express my gratitude to the South Carolina basketball staff and fan base for embracing me as a Gamecock. After much thought, prayer, and extensive conversation with my family, I requested and was granted a release from my National Letter of Intent (NLI) with the University of South Carolina. I will be reopening my recruitment with hopes of pursuing basketball opportunities closer to home. I sincerely appreciate Coach Paris’ genuine investment in me, both on and off the court, and his compassion and professionalism during this process. Please respect my decision. Thank you.
Noah originally chose South Carolina over the likes of Dayton, Saint Louis, Stanford, Richmond, Western Kentucky, Butler, and Seton Hall when he committed last October.

But with a coaching change at Kentucky, it would certainly make sense for Noah to end up at the home state school.
KSR’s Matt Jones reports that Kentucky, Lousiville, and Tennessee will be among the expected schools involved.
The 6-foot-6, 200-pounder is ranked by On3 as the No. 122 player in the 2024 class and the No. 29 shooting guard. He checks in as the No. 150 player in the Industry Rankings and a three-star prospect.
