Oregon State QB Travis Throckmorton enters NCAA Transfer Portal

Another top-rated offensive player from the Oregon State Beavers is deciding to exit the program this spring. Shortly after star running back Damien Martinez entered the NCAA transfer portal, one of their quarterbacks battling for the starting position, Travis Throckmorton, is leaving in Corvallis, OR, in search of a new home for the 2024 campaign after entering his name into the portal.

Throckmorton played high school ball at Simi Valley High School in Simi Valley, CA, where he was a three-star recruit with an 85.7 recruiting grade. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, he was the No. 869 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle.

Throckmorton did not record any collegiate stats during his time at Oregon State.

Oregon State transfer running back Damien Martinez cancels Kentucky visit

While the question still remains of where Martinez will play in 2024, the list of potential suitors appears to have gotten smaller. The former Oregon State star recently revealed that he was canceling his visit with the Kentucky Wildcats football program.

“I will not be at Kentucky 23/24…journey continues,” Martinez wrote.

Damien Martinez is one of the biggest names currently available in the Transfer Portal and he has taken several visits with another scheduled. That includes  ArizonaMississippi StateTennessee, and Miami. His visit to Kentucky was scheduled for April 23rd and 24th, after the Arizona, Mississippi State, and Tennessee visits.

According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Martinez’s agent says that he will still take his visit to Miami that is scheduled for April 25th to the 27th. Those dates also haven’t changed.

Damien Martinez played high school football at Lewisville (Texas), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 615 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

In two seasons at Oregon State, Martinez played in 25 games and rushed for 2,167 yards while averaging 6.1 yards per carry. He also had 16 touchdowns on the ground.
