Thoughts on this match up?
Quick notes
Independence is favored in every category. They have played a much tougher schedule. They are way ahead program wise. Experience wise. etc.

I do think Page is vastly underrated and for quite a few reasons. They are still young in many spots, including coaching wise. This has shown up in a few situations. Including against Ragsdale and B.L. Smith where Page was a big favorite and squeaked out close wins, and had every chance of beating Dudley and imho, should have... That being said, there is a ton of talent on that team and they are pretty confident right now. Out scoring last two opponents 128 to 0.

I see this game being much closer than most think. But Indy should win as they are more polished and disciplined in their execution. I think Page's explosiveness on offense and ability to defend the pass, as they lead the state in interceptions with 22 now, could play a factor in this one.

Prediction: Indy 41, Page 33

Indy BIG. Not sure folks understand how good Indy is. Dont factor in the Hough and WC games as those two teams are in a completely different tier. Weddington, Grimsley, WC, and Hough are on a separate tier this year in the state. Indy is next tier.

Page has improved a lot from last year and has been having a good season this year. But I believe Independence will come out with a good win. Independence definitely is having a good year and that defense is tough.

Page went toe to toe with Grimsley 14-14 before Grimsley figured some things out. You cannot ignore some scores for indy, just like you cannot for Page. Everything counts. There are reasons to believe Page probably don't get blown out. But hey, it could happen.

Not from Greensboro but Page/Grimsley is one of those rivalry games. Could look at the Page/Smith score and say the same thing. Page has had a great year. Coach Hann has something special going on at Page.

Since Indy lost to WC they have given up two total TDS, and avg about 40 points. Not sure what Coach McFadden said to them but they are a different animal right now.

Yeah the Smith game was very ugly. Total of 395 penalty yards for both teams combined, most of them personal fouls with extracurriculars after almost every play. Smith knew the only chance they had was to muddy up the game and try to get into Page's head and it worked pretty well. Definitely a big learning experience for the coaches and players. Page also turned it over a few times, but had 4-5 takeaways themselves to seal the deal. This is the first time in about 10 years since both teams played each other, an old rival, it's mostly always been a muddied up game since I can remember.

What's the biggest Greensboro rivalries? was always thinking Smith/Dudley, and Page/Grimsley, or Dudley/Page. Never knew about Smith/Page.

Page and Grimsley is the biggest and most heated, and one of the biggest in the nation, let alone state. Grimsley/Dudley is the oldest, but not because of football, and it dates back to when Grimsley was Greensboro Senior and Dudley was built in 1929, which is why I still think its a slap in the face to Dudley when Grimsley wears any type of jersey with Greensboro on it (which they still do, and i think is part of the reason why they didn't play each other for many years until this year was forced), it harkens back to segregation times.. Dudley/Page and Dudley/Smith (played their first game against each other in 1967) are big too. Page/Smith and Grimsley/Smith aren't quite as big, but are a thing. You see, the Four Greensboro inner city schools have always been rivals of each other. The old holiday basketball tournament at the Coliseum was coined the 'Little 4' after the Big 4 (Carolina, Duke, Wake, NC State) and held that name for many years, now its called the Haeco Invitational Tournament, and has expanded to more teams around the Greensboro area.
