Why do you think Gosnell is different? He was on the team last year. If he has improved enough for you to say it’s a difference why can’t the rest of the team?
Unless you been living under a rock on NC Preps. Stephan Gosnell was at Carroll County last year for his junior year. There were multiple post on these very boards about it in the off season about him coming back. I'm not sure if the younger brother stayed at east surry or went to Carroll county too. I do know it was a hot topic on here. Unless I imagined all that happening? Or if maybe he transferred after the season than transferred back before the season? It really wasnt something I cared to follow closely at the time after Tarboro beat then by 40.

He was at Carroll County for spring semester. He played for East Surry in the fall. In last year's championship game, had to play QB the entire 4th quarter due to Boaz's injury.

ES's offensive line is improved since last year. In the championship game they couldn't keep Tarboro's DT's out of the backfield. You watch the film they did a great job against Reidsville. The QB had a lot of time to survey the field. Those diving catches 12 made in the endzone were nearly unstoppable no matter how good your secondary is.
Tarboro seems to always have good containment of the run and they can adjust to passing schemes. In last year's game against East Surry, the Cardinals had 3 drives in the first half and had 105 yards of total offense, 95 passing. East had 6 drives in the second half and 33 yards total offense. No second half drive lasted more than three downs. Defensive adjustments made all the difference. I'm sure Coach Lowman has gone through the tape and knows what Tarboro did. The magic of Tarboro is they rarely ever get out-finessed defensively. You might beat them strength on strength over 4 quarters (...WRH...), but that defense is good in ways that don't get appreciated by the casual fan.

Alot of football to be played. I look forward to see how it unfolds. Gosnells had a incredible game against Reidsville their is no question and East Surry rightfully has alot to be excited about. I dont fault anyone from East Surry for that. I think we both would like to see this play out on the field in the chip to settle it. I hope yall win out as well as Tarboro so it happens.

Agree. I’m just giving props to a team that I doubted and a poster I doubted. To me Reidsville is a good measuring tape for a tarboro. I think a Reidsville Tarboro would be epic. Just like ES Reidsville this year was epic. So I’m not going to doubt ES this year. I’ll pick that back up next year. Lol.

Everybody talking about Tarboro and East Surry. The fact that Holmes, Swain and Polk are undefeated is going unnoticed... If East Surry got caught looking ahead to the title game, they would likely go home thanks to the Maroon Machine. Swain is most dangerous team in 1aa. Why? Because their record doesn't matter. A 5-6 Swain plays like a 11-0 team in November and December.
In years past true, but swains been down a few yrs and Polk seems to be back, but... after beating Reidsville ( who beats Mtn heritage, who beats Polk). Hard to not think East is driving the bus right now.
