a 4.5 favorite per VegasInsider. I really don't get that one. But sometimes their "opening line" is not in sync with the real opening lines at many of the sports book. Back to work, boys! [winking]

They are still ahead of us in the computer rankings. It's at Missouri.

Will be interesting to see how much it moves before Saturday.

They looked defenseless again MTSU for the part of the game I watched. The books are just trying to get the juice flowing.

Missouri has lost at WVU, FL and LSU.

Lost at home in close ones to UGA and MTSU. I'm not sure UK is better than either UGA or MTSU, but is along the same level of type of team. So I'd expect a close game going on the road at Missouri despite their troubles.

Plus, they have not really lost to anyone terrible, and still have UK, Vandy and SC to play. I still like UK in a close one.

Glad they're favored. I think this team will respond better as an underdog. I want to be pitied.

I think that will probably come down to Mizz -2.5, which I think will be a good bet, taking UK.

I looked at ESPN earlier and the little circular graph there listed them as a 70% favorite. Something like that. Guessing it's just because they have a higher scoring average

Also computers use entire body of work, and their somewhat close loss to wvu in week one looks "better"" than our first two weeks. From weeks 3-now we would be ahead, but the southern miss and Florida are killing our computer polls

The lines are usually pretty damn accurate..there's a reason those guys get paid the money they do..never easy to win on the road in the SEC, especially considering the fact that every single game we play, no matter how bad the opponent, comes down to the final drive

He has great potential, but, at this point, he's nowhere near close to Dobbs or Kelly.
Or Hurts, Austin Allen, Trevor Knight is doing it more with feet vs arm but is playmaker as well...I'd argue Nick Fitzgerald is a better QB than Locke when you look at his feet.

Look at Locke's stats vs. SEC competition (i.e. take out those two non conference bunnies that he went Madden on passing it around the joint). 3 TD vs. 6 Ints. Mizzou has been in a tough game vs. UGA and then looked like hot mess vs. LSU and UF.

I was thinking nail biter before I just read about all the injuries and a half suspension for targeting.

I'll say UK by 7.

You guaranteed me we would be favored, right?

My bad Aike..your right again my friend.
I guess I let the 0-3 and 2-5 records of Mizzou coupled with the 3 straight 40 plus pts allowed in 3 straight losses get the best of me.
They are at home but it's clear they have major defensive issues.

I figured Missouri would be favored but I'm interested to see if it moves toward us.

By the way, Vegas was wrong last week. Doesn't matter if they believe, as long as we win.

That means more than you think. Means UK offense is going to have to put some pts on the board again. Was on record it would take 30-35 to beat MSU and this game will be the same.

Yes. My reference was to the so called "opening line" that VegasInsider posts. It is claimed to be the first betting line they (i.e., VegasInsider) get from one of their sport books but is often not seen on the sports books' lines that they do post on their site. Those first actual posted betting lines from the various sports books (e.g., Wynn, MGM, William Hill, et. al) often differs a bit from the so called "opening line".

Let's not forget we beat Miss State on a 50 yard plus field goal in the last second. We had the game under control then self destructed to the point we almost blew the game. Playing at Missouri means we have to cut down on mistakes and we have to play hard every play. Do that and we win. But this is not a game I would put a lot of money on UK. Just keeping it real

Once again I think this game will come down to the last possession, just like our last 3 SEC victories have come. if we can simply get Johnson to play turnover free we will win by 2 scores.

Mizzou's defense is not as rough & hard hitting as State, their QB is a good one but they run a garbage Big 12 HUNH offense that results most of the time in quick 3 & outs. Got to run the ball, drain the play clock, control time of possession to avoid letting them wear out our thin defense.

One thing for sure, he'll look like Brady on Saturday
Did the Mississippi State QB look like Brady this past Saturday? Those 81 yards were a pain to deal with.

Matter of fact our last three quarterbacks faced in SEC wins were:

15/30 for 177 yards
17/29 for 141yards
13/21 for 81 yards

That's an average of allowing 56% passing for 133 yards per game and 1 TD and 1 INT.

1 touchdown pass allowed in 3 SEC wins......1.

HECK...Throw in Bama's game into the equation and it is still a 57.5% passing for 165 yards and 3 TD to 1 INT.

And you are still taking shots why? I think we all know.

Mizzou has shown they can move the football and score. They rank 11th in the country in total offense at 505 yards a game. This will be an extremely difficult offense for the Kentucky defense to stop.

But Mizzou gives up a lot of defense. They are 107th in the county allowing 220 rushing yards. Boom, Kemp, and Snell should have success against this defense.

Run the ball, control the clock, keep their offense off the field.

I'm just saying that our luck dictates this guy will be on fire. He is a talent with a giant arm.

I wasn't taking shots at our defense- just our luck.

What many of us are saying is that the "talent" is more of an illusion. Take away the E. Michigan and Delaware games and his stats become 220ypg, 1td, 1int and a completion rate well below 50%. How do you get "he is a talent" out of that? Yes he has a big arm, you did get that part right.
