For some reason I feel like noon games have been the sleep walking starts for us. Could just be the trauma of the final Joker year is still hitting me.

a 4.5 favorite per VegasInsider. I really don't get that one. But sometimes their "opening line" is not in sync with the real opening lines at many of the sports book. Back to work, boys! [winking]

Peace

VegasInsider now list the consensus at 3.5 but only list a line from one place, Wynn's has it as 4.0

Also computers use entire body of work, and their somewhat close loss to wvu in week one looks "better"" than our first two weeks. From weeks 3-now we would be ahead, but the southern miss and Florida are killing our computer polls
Not even remotely accurate. What is killing our computer polls is the fact we have only beaten USCjr, Missippi State, New Mexico St, and Vandy. All losing teams.
We will go to a bowl game and not have beaten a team with a winning record.

Season isn't over yet...just sayin.

If it did turn out that way though I would still take it.

No doubt. Considering where we started to where we will finish, any bowl is better than no bowl. The only concern is Missouri is considered better than any team we have beatn this year, they are at home, and we play poorly on the road.

Did the Mississippi State QB look like Brady this past Saturday? Those 81 yards were a pain to deal with.

Matter of fact our last three quarterbacks faced in SEC wins were:

15/30 for 177 yards
17/29 for 141yards
13/21 for 81 yards

That's an average of allowing 56% passing for 133 yards per game and 1 TD and 1 INT.

1 touchdown pass allowed in 3 SEC wins......1.
Not to denigrate the Cats' efforts in those wins but it should be noted that the SC, Vandy and MSU QBs are not among the top 100 passers (by QB rating) in the nation. (FWIW, I think QBR is pretty darn good measure of QB passing efficiency.) The Mizzou QB is #64 but Johnson is #76 in that metric. Overall, Mizzou is #27 in passing YPG at 284 and UK #108 at 178 YPG. As passing teams go, SC, Vandy and MSU are ranked #81, #118 and #98 respectively. All that said, Locke has a better chance of being Brady-esque than the Sc, VAndy and MSU QBs.

I don't follow Mizzou but this will be the 3rd best passing team UK has faced so far this year, #19 USM and #21 NM State being the other two. Other than some quick pre-game looks I don't follow anyone other than UofL or UK but (other than bad luck ???) I see no reason "why" UK cannot win this one. This will be their 4th must win game and so far they have answered the bell.

NOTE: Above stats are based on FBS competition only.

True, the Cats have not won by much over some very mediocre teams but this season is all about getting the wins regardless of the game "optics". With each of those close wins over SC, Vandy and MSU have kept the 6 win season alive and avoided an almost unsalvageable sub .500 position. OTOH, the MTSU loss all but wrecked Mizzou's bowl chances. At 2-5, they must now sweep UK, SC and Vandy and hope for a miracle against either TN or AR.

Peace

Agree completely about the bowl.

Not sure I agree about Missouri though. They have looked worse against SEC competition than MSU this season. You take away the two "impressive" wins they have against vastly inferior competition and the argument could be made they are the worst team in the SEC. I've seen parts of two games they have played and nothing about them looks good.

Opps had some backwards numbers. Miss St is 56 and Misery is 58. All others are much worse.

Those look slightly more accurate. Is that the CBS ranking? If so that thing is hot garbage up and down the SEC aside from Bama. Take a look at the conference power rankings on seccountry.com, I think that is clearer picture of the conference.

Ok it is about time to head back to Louisville Rivals.

Really don't have use for your "but's" on every game won or statistic in favor of Kentucky.

We couldn't get a dang obvious "horse collar" call AT HOME. What kind of calls are we going to see AT MISSOURI?

The only thing I can see going in our favor is that the SEC NEEDS UK to get to 6 wins to fill a bowl slot. Missouri's chances aren't good to qualify. So hope that plays a big factor.

Vegas also has Ole Miss -1 over Auburn. After Saturday's demolition of Arkansas, that surprises.

I like how he started his post "not to denigrate..." and then proceeded to do exactly that. He's a very crafty Card fan, much more crafty than the average; so clever that I would even call him a "Card" fan, not a "Tard".

Their offense has looked explosive against Eastern Mich, Delaware St, and Midd Tenn...color me not impressed.

I'm not going to crown their QB the second coming. What has he done against anyone of note? Through 3 scores against a down UGA, as well as 3 picks...

If we cant beat Missouri, we cant beat any team left on the schedule.

Lose this game and things go back to defcon 4, team moral sinks, rumors fly, things snow ball from there...

HECK...Throw in Bama's game into the equation and it is still a 57.5% passing for 165 yards and 3 TD to 1 INT.

And you are still taking shots why? I think we all know.

In God we trust. All others use data

I have no confidence in our ability to stop a decent passing game. Like the final 2 drives against poor offenses Vandy & State when they had to pass ...we get absolutely no pass rush and they blow down the field.

Hopefully we control the ball...play clean and get some breaks. MTSU QB just picked them apart with timing passes.
I hope for best but think our defense will get exposed against a team that can run and throw

What is our modern day record when kickoff is at noon in the central time zone ?
Well, since when haven't such games been on the road against SEC West teams or MO & haven't most of those teams normally better than UK? Net, why would you expect a good past record in those games?

WildCard is one of the better posters on this board. TS.
I don't post often, but I have been reading this board for years. WildCard always works a backhanded complement or some little dig at UK in a lot of his posts. He posts on almost every thread I read. While some of what he says may be true, I don't like hearing from a fan of our rival. I still welcome his posts, but I understand how he can irritate some of our fans...me included.

Missouri can't run the ball very well. their offense is one dimensional on purpose. so that'll make it easier for our defense.
they could shock everybody... but at this point, they are what they are.

it's their defense, though, that i like. that Mathers (i think his name was Mathers) kid at MTSU was a god among insects out there. Missouri is as weak against the run as we are strong at running the ball. Our offensive line will eat them alive, and the likes of Boom, Snell, and Kemp will control the game. we may not punt a single time.

Mizzou may have the best QB in the SEC... that counts for a lot.
Against P5 competition he is 72-151 (48%), 5 td, 6 int and 236 passing yards per game.

Considering 3 of those tds and 376 passing yards came against a georgia team that is in the bottom 3rd of passing defense, and I'd say that lock is actually a poor QB that has racked up stats against really bad defenses

Then why was Stoops lauding him in his presser? Because he sucks?

From what I've seen of him, he's got a rocket arm, finds the correct receiver and a lot of his poor stats are related to the fact his receivers can't catch.

We'll see Saturday in the flesh how good he is... Maybe Vegas likes him too?
