Reitz Panthers? I remember them from High School when I went to Evansville Harrison. They ran the single wing (football). Big PIA to defend.
It's a balancing act between HS and xfer portal, but CPFK is putting in the work!!
After what we are experiencing this year I trust him in recruiting High School kids and the portal. I also trust him in his coaching and motivating his players he has earned that from all of us.
CPK appears to be identifying targets early and getting them acquainted to the way he does business. A lot different than previous coaches.
How they built the roster this year tells me they understand exactly what they need to run their systems. Injuries kind of screwed them in being elite. The pieces all fit.
If you are messing around in the HS ranks you only do it for can’t miss kids. There is zero reason to take projects unless they are like Perry and Trent kids at UK. Those guys are never leaving UK and they are good enough to play quality minutes.

Any player visiting has to come away impressed with what they experienced. Of course after that it is all about "show me the money". I hate what has happened to college sports, but it is what it is.
The last player we had from Ashland, Ky was Jeff Hall he was a sharp shooter. If this kid is as any good as Hall I would love to have him.

Jeff Hall shut down Johnny Dawkins in the 2nd half of the 1986 National Championship. He not only could shoot but also play defense. We played the box and 1 defense on him, Jeff on Johnny, and it is why we won the game. If you watch the game at he end when coach K toke him out, his shoulder just slumped down as he exited the floor. I met Jonny years later and he said that that game haunts him to this day.
It haunts all the Duke players. If you watch that ESPN show "The class that saved Coach K", Louisville ruined the storybook ending of the class that turned Duke into the powerhouse it became.
Jay Bilas laments to this day not boxing out Pervis Ellison on Jeff Halls airball or the blocking foul called on him instead of a charge on Milt Wagner. Duke was 37 and 2 and everyone in the country expected them to win their first title.
As we all know it didn't happen as Louisville was the team of destiny that season, but Duke went on to win 5 titles sending coach K into the Hall of Fame.
The loss to Louisville still hurts Bilas and Dawkins because they believe they were the best Duke team under the Coach K era, but didn't win the championship.

That's correct. It was Danny Ferry that clotheslined Jeff Hall who was going for a dunk. Duke fans have always defended Ferry saying Hall was being disrespectful trying to dunk when the outcome was decided.
Truth is the Duke players were in shock because they fully expected to win the championship. To this day they resent losing to Louisville that night. Bilas deals with it by making jokes about how he had no chance against Never Nervous Pervis.
