Damn I am pumped up for this season. They just can't afford to get off to another one of these slow starts that thaey have gotten off to the last couple of years.

What are your thoughts about the recent transactions? All I know about Cunningham and Pondexter is what I've read. I hated to see us lose Vasquez just because he earned a lot of respect from mein the playoffs. Can Cunningham fill Arthur's void, and will Pondexter be the scorer we're missing?

.....but wasn't mad about it as well. He really is to slow to be a pg, and if poindexter doesn't work I think you will see Selby get a ****. Losing Arthur for the season hurts

Z-bo was ice cold tonight. We can't afford many nights like that. Although Rudy put up a decent stat line he sucked in actuality as well. The new guys did nothing. Gasol looked ready to play. Tony Allen still thinks he is an offensive threat. O.J. has been watered down to worthless. Ginobli still flops. Duncan still thinks he never fouls (couldn't believe we got some of them). The Red Rocket is still aroused.

I summed up the articles and sports talk for tomorrow. I am really disappointed in the second half. It seemed like we had definite control of that game through the first two quarters. Lets see if we can improve at the forum on Wednesday. Lionel needs to get on that ***.

We need more Allen and less Sam Young! <div>
</div><div>Also, we need to get it inside much, much more... Hey, it's just one game, though, so I'm hoping we get it figured out.</div>

i haven't cared for basketball in a while but i'm going to try to become a fan this year and follow the thunder.<div>what's the deal with the majority of posters on here being memphis fans though? people living in the memphis area or because it's the closest team to mississippi kind of like most people being braves fans in baseball.</div>

aren't close to Mississippi.** What's wrong with following a team just because they are nearby? I grew up watching the Braves in the mid-90s because that was the only team that local tv would pick up and that's how I spent my summers. Same for the Saints (before the days of the Titans). Same for Mississippi State.

I don't know the other posters but we live here and have season tickets. It appears they do as well or at least attend a lot of the games. I don't know why you would put yourself through the Grizzlies heartache when we already have Mississippi State. I would stick with the Thunder if you don't have any reason to be attached. I live in Memphis and like to see the city like it was when we clenched the first round of the playoffs. Like MSU, it always feels better to win as the underdog.

I live in Germantown, and go to quite a few games every year. I started following Memphis when they traded for lrOb on draft night, and moved up here 5 years ago when I got married.

Now about last night. As bad as they looked, it was a tough road game, and they are still working out a few kinks. The bench for the most part is now pretty new, and they will have to get used to playing with Rudy again. Once they get everything together they will be one of the better teams in the league, just going to take a little time. Wednesday night should be a blast

Catching them after a full season with a team that had confidence through the roof was what lead to the upset last year. This was the first game of season. They're old but fresh, and they've got damn near every piece of last year's team back. A team that had been together looked like a strength of the Griz until the last week.

You should really enjoy watching the Lakers this season hatfield because they are godawful. Kobe is going to lose his mind before this year is over if Gasol does not find his nuts.

Anyway, I think an OKC/Miami matchup in the Finals would be pretty good. I would love to see Durant deny LeBron from getting a title.

My Saints fandom grew from how much I love the city itself. I liked eating in that citybefore I fell into the Saints. I was killing soft shells in Kindergarten.

As for the Griz? I've always loved professional basketball. Pretty much was stuck with followingplayers or the Hawks, but I've just never really associated with Atlanta. When they moved a team to Memphis, I decided to latch onto the them. Have family from there and love the city despite getting gang raped and murdered everytime I cross the state line. Maybe I should pack heat.

I never connected with the Hornets. They just don't really seem to fit in down there.

I want I see the Lakers stumble as well. It annoys me when the bandwagon fans come out to support the Lakers when they come to town. It would be like going to watch the Dawgs play and the half the season ticket holders show up in crimson when the tide comes to town.

I don't know what about Memphis helped that guy get his act together, but he is one of my favorite athletes now. From a pothead waste to an All-NBA do-gooder in the community. Z-Bo!

A couple of years ago he went and paid the light bills of I think 500 families to get their power back on. Dude just finally grew up and is probably my favorite player in the league
