Win the Eastern division and play in the sec championship game? Don't know if they could beat ut , but I'm going to say yes...

That team also lost to a pretty bad miss state team. Might of been the worst atmosphere game I have ever been to in commonwealth. After coming off the uofl, lsu, and Florida with gameday, dreary weather, mentally exhausted fans and team, and a terrible game time led to that one.
It takes not only a good team to win a division, but some good bounces also.
They had two I believe. Dixon and Jones if I'm not mistaken. I was at that game and agree with the poster above...it was miserable.Yea and state had a killer running back that year. Can't remember his name. Bad timing on that one.

Let's look at our schedule then.
2007
@ Ark - Win
@ SC - Loss
LSU - Win
FL - Loss
MSU - Loss
@UGA - Loss
@ Vandy - Win
UT - Loss
If 2007 team played that schedule in 2016, how would they do?
@ Ark - Win?
@ SC - Win
LSU - Win
FL - Win?
MSU - Win
@UGA - Win?
@ Vandy - Win
UT - Win?
Seems crazy, but I'm not convinced that the 2007 team couldn't win every game if they played the 2016 version of those teams this year. That team lost 3 SEC home games!
If you gave them all 3 wins they already had, then you might also be able to add home wins over MSU, FL, and UT. If you drop one of those, and replace it with a road win over SC, or Georgia, you are still at 6-2.
If 2007 team played the 2016 schedule:
@ FL - Win
SC - Win
@ Bama - Loss
Vandy - Win
MSU - Win
@UT - Loss
@Missouri - Win
UGA - Win
That would be 6-2, if we split with UT/FL on the road. If we lose to both, then we drop to 5-3.
In short, if you had the 2007 team play this schedule, I think we win all 4 SEC home games and at least 1 (Missouri) on the road.
It would still be the best SEC record since the 1970s (right?) and would feel like a championship to those of us who long for 4-4.
That "pretty bad" Mississippi State team finished 8-5/4-4...same overall and better league record than the Cats that year.That team also lost to a pretty bad miss state team. Dream on.
Our "great" (and they were great) offense had ONE four star starting, zero 5.7s, one 5.6, two 5.5s and two two stars starting (Lyons a 4.9) at the "skill"positions with the OL averaging a lofty 5.2 for the five positions Depth was nonexistent, when 5.6 Little (greatly underrated) went down we replaced himwith two star Dixon.
Didn't do the 07 teams but in 10 the SEC teams we played (minus Vandy, zero) AVERAGED 38 four star commits oveR the four previous years--------plus FIVE STARS.
The 06 team was 4-4 in the SEC and I think we had one or two other break even season in those THIRTY NINE years..
