Next year, with decent qb play we'll really make some noise. With great qb play, we could really go places

Every opposing defense will have to load up on the run. and we'll have giant receivers along with Badet on the outside

I read your post in the other thread proclaiming UofL and their 33 seniors....google is your friend, buddy. Not one single source comes anywhere near showing UofL with 33 seniors. In fact you would be lucky to find a single source that shows 20. Here are the REAL numbers

15 - Seniors
5 - RS Seniors

Jesus, man...it's not that hard to do a little research, you should try it sometime.

I was even nice and provided the roster for you.

Having an opinion is one thing, but at least be accurate with insanely easy verifiable facts.

And only 10 of those actually contribute

It's kind of funny how fans work. When someone is discussing "next year" about their team, it's always about who they have coming back, how much those people are going to improve, etc. When that same person is discussing another team though, it's only about who they're losing and how they're going to be worse off for it. Returning players are ignored and there's no chance the backups could ever improve to be as good or even better as the players that left.

I'm comfortable that we can replace everyone listed above with reasonable success. Some guys won't be as good and some will be better, but that's how it always is. I do worry about the OL, but I always worry about the OL because I don't know enough to be able to tell who in the pipeline is good and who isn't. But I do know Petrino typically has a very good OL once he can get his guys in there and grow them for his system. I think we're trending towards that, because some of the guys listed above were pretty bad 2 years ago and have since turned into assets.

Silly me, I thought this thread was about UK's 2017 potential starters.

Personally I think Louisville is going to lose a ton on defense and take . You just aren't easily going to replace Brown at nose guard and Kelsey at middle linebacker and Fields at Dend and the safety that was kicked out of georgia. All of those guys are long time NFL players. The two most important are Brown and Kelsey in my opinion. UL is VERY hard to run on with them on the field. I see no one on the roster that will come close to those guys.

Reasonable success may be possible without them, but that's a very broad term. And doesn't allow for a very good defense with future NFL players with lots of experience.

OP mentions nothing about a UL toady trying to take over the thread.

Haha, okay man. Gary4UK started with his "UL loses 33 seniors" rap out of nowhere and was corrected. He then - unprovoked - again listed each starter that UL will lose after this year. I then wrote a post more talking about how, in general, fans talk about their teams vs other teams when it comes to "next year". If that makes me a "toady" trying to take over a thread, I guess you got me.

I like the current two deep as an example of our future depth -
QB Johnson, Sr-JC, - Barker RS Jr?
RB Williams, Sr , - Snell, So
LT Mosier, Sr OR Young, So
LG Haynes, Sr OR Stenberg, So- RS
Ctr Stallings, Jr - Jackson, RS Fr
RG Stallings, Jr OR Meyers, Sr
RT Meadows, Sr OR Asafo-Adjei, Jr
TE Conrad, Jr, - Hart, Sr
WR Badet, Sr, - Bone, Sr, - Ross, Jr-JC
WR Bouvier, Jr
WR Johnson, Sr, - Walker, Sr
WR Richardson, So-RS OR Baker, Sr, - Greenwood, So-RS

SLB Allen, Jr, - Bonner, Jr-JC
DT Middleton, Jr, - Dubose, Jr
NG Elam, Sr, OR Pringle,Sr- JC
DE Bell, Sr- JC
DE / OLB Ware, Jr, - Daniel, Jr
NB Randolph, Sr
MLB Love, Sr-Tr, - Daniel, So- HS
WLB Jones, Jr - Brown, So- RS
CB Baity, Jr, - Griffin, So-HS, Robinson, So-HS
CB Westry, Jr
SS Edwards, Jr - Randolph, Sr
FS West, RS So?

I have to consider the likelihood that a couple Juniors will go pro among Westry, Baity, Jones, Edwards and Ware, increasing the true number of "graduating" players.
Still, there is depth on the Oline and hope for our Dline to develop depth. And several players that would have been forced into starting this year and next except for the depth Stoops has built.

I've looked at the depth chart every week and the lack of seniors - yet ew've won three SEC games to date and a chance to do better.
