Love that we are getting young talent to visit. With the transfer portal, need young talent and vets each year. A lot of commitments will come if we do well this year IMO
Still hoping to land some of the good 2025 players but we'll see what happens. I do agree that a good to great season for PK this year should help Cards future recruiting.
That I haven't heard. At the very latest it should be by tonight. PK wants him here for the Tennessee game tomorrow.
The number of high end guys visiting is impressive, it is equally impressive they have
missed all them. I have no clue what is going on with basketball recruiting but it has tanked for 10 years.
Pitino wasn’t killing it. Mack landed no one out of High School. Whatever disaster Kenny Payne was he was known as a recruiter. Kelsey and crew are considered good recruiters. They have missed on everyone in the 2025 class. Not super surprised but my goodness you would think with the playing time available next year they would land someone.
Not a huge deal with transfers but if they miss in 2026 at this rate I would be really concerned on what is going with High School recruiting. The results speak for themselves.

Even if they landed somebody, they could just change their minds. Don't get me wrong it would be cool to get a verbal I guess but I wouldn't bank on any HS kid even if they pledge to the program.
I'd probably just expect another round of transfers.
What we need to hope for is there's more NIL so they can grab a big man. But then again if there was more NIL they'd probably already have a HS kid in the fold.
So it is quite possible the program is doomed.

I get what you're saying but it's still too early for all that doom and gloom. Doesn't mean you'll ultimately be wrong but I don't think we're there yet.
PK does have possibly 5 guys returning next season so while we need a couple freshmen, the team already has a few guys ready for next season.
In other news, the slapdicks are going toe to toe with highly ranked Duke. Was hoping Duke would blow them out but not looking like it right now..
Bad feeling because I think there is a big gap in athletes in games I watched tonight compare to what I watched on Saturday.

UK is also not very athletic or at least not more athletic than UofL.
Brea, Carr, Amour, and Kriisa are all laterally slow with limited athletic ability.
It's difficult to get any sort of feel about their defense from the first two games but it is worth noting that Duke almost beat them while shooting 4-23 from deep. Duke also outrebounded them and had fewer turnovers - UK only forced 7 turnovers all night. Looking at their stats that means Duke shot 50% on their 2 point attempts and scored 46 points in the paint.

I said it before the season - I think both rosters are shockingly similar and would go as far to say I think UofL has a better roster on paper. It will be up to PK to get his team to do what Pope is getting his team to do.
