- Anything meant to be eaten immediately.

- Restaurant food or café meals.
- Convenience store hot foods (e.g., pizza by the slice, hot sandwiches).

- Household supplies, paper goods, cleaning products.
- Pet food.
- Toiletries and cosmetics.

Maybe they were fake videos but I saw videos of people getting pissed because they couldn't buy candy bars with their EBT card.
I would expand that to processed foods, or foods that contain known negative health outcomes like:
- anything with HFCS
- anything with artificial trans fats
- any refined grains
- anything with a high sodium level
And any product with chemical additives like preservatives, dyes, and artificial sweeteners.
But the FDA has been bought and paid for, so they would never support.
If we really want to make this country healthy, and eliminate food deserts, then start by restricting what can be purchased with SNAP, and what can be served in our public schools. You would crush the market for cheap unhealthy foods.
What makes you think they're getting pushed off SNAP? They'll start collecting again as soon as the government reopens.
Nearly 50 years ago I was behind a guy at the grocery checkout. This was when food stamps were actually paper coupons. The guy had some lunch meat, bread, and a 6 pack of beer and the total was about $10. He handed the cashier a $5 food stamp coupon and a $5 bill. The cashier said sorry sir but I cannot accept food stamps for beer. So he switched hands gave her the $5 for beer then paid for the meat and bread with the food stamp which she gladly accepted.
This is what they mean when they say money is fungible.

This has been happening for at least the 40 years that I could be considered a reliable witness. ****, I've seen them roll up to the "check-out line" with two shopping carts (on many, many occasions). One filled with food products (paid for by food stamps). The other filled with beer/wine (paid in straight up cash hommie).
Everyone knows this crap is happening including the cashiers and store managers but they don't have any authority to stop it.
Just like people voting without ID. Every sane person in this country knows there are people voting who should not be allowed to. Problem is, the "boots on the ground" folks have no authority to stop it.
