I'm saying C+ only because that south miss game then on the road at Bama and only giving up a couple offensive td's all with a juco transfer to boot

C-....giving us the benefit of the doubt with Barker getting hurt. Also recognizing the improvement in the defense, particularly due to Pringle IMHO.

C- saved by recent wins. The shame is I would be at an A if not for a crap half against USM.

Huge swing so far but these next two games are the difference between going from a D or F all the way up to a B+

Just way too early to tell but the USM was a big hit on the staff where we stand today IF it costs us a bowl

D... Had we beaten USM id say C+/B-
Lost to USM
Humiliated by UF
Bad performance vs lowly NMSU team
Beat a very awful SC team
Completely blew the Vandy game on our end of things by leaving wide op bmmhklen TE in the endzone to complete Vandy's comeback. We were lucky they dropped it. But we can't keep counting on teams to drop wide open TD passes at the end of close games in order to get wins vs terrible teams. Its not a good method IMO. We'll get beat. 99/100 times if we keep giving plays like that up at the end of games. Had the TE caught the ball. This board would likely be going thru a complete meltdown and Stoops would be the worst coach ever. Fortunately though he dropped the pass. It's crazy how one wide open pitch and catch in the backyard dropped pass changes the narrative of Stoops and our program. That drop could've likely saved stoops his job. But the fact is he did drop the pass, we won. So our team obviously is playing with a ton of heart doing what it takes to win games at the end.

Depends on your grading standards but I'll go with this...

6-0: A++ (win all you should win + 2 you should not)
5-1: B+/A (win all you should win + 1 you should not)
4-2: C/B- (win all you should win)
3-3: D/C- (lose 1 you should win)
2-4 or worse: F (lose 2 or more you should win)

I'll say a C-

Peace

C for me as well. If we hadn't blown a 28 pt. lead against S. Miss it would be a solid B. Still I remain hopeful for improving that grade before the semester is over. I look at MSU, Mizzou, and Georgia, and I see 3 teams we could beat. If we can get 2 of them, and Akron we get to 6 wins.

How does your grade change after tomorrow?

Will it stay the same if we:

Win but play poorly?
Lose but play great?

Will it rise no matter how we play as long as we win?

Will it lower no matter how we play if we lose?

I'll be glad when I can give B- when we are 6-0 undefeated 1/2 way thru because we only played good enough to win.

"We played like crap, at least we won them all..." These will be the good times.

i just don't see how anyone could rate this team a C at this point. It really goes to show how low our expectations are. This season is pass fail and through the first 6 UK has failed. The loss to USM in such a nightmarish way and the drubbing a bad Florida team put on is well have you forgot? This team is no C. D at best

I'll say C. The first two games were so bad that they drag the grade down, but finding ways to win with a lightly recruited, inexperienced and banged up back up quarterback helps the grade (You think USC Jr and both Vanderbilt fans aren't as disheartened by that as we are by USM and Florida?).

By just about any metric, we are, historically, the worst or second worst program in the SEC conference. Grades have to reflect the status of the program. For us, progress has to start somewhere. Consistently beating the worst teams in the league would be a good place to start (with designs on continuing to climb the SEC ladder). Cats have a chance to end the season 7-2 versus the other three lesser east teams over the last 3 years. Time to start closing the gap on the MSU, Georgia and Tennessee.

C+, based on the better play in the last 4 games. The 2nd half of the season could go from a D- to a B+ depending on MSU, Mizzou, and UGA.
