They NEVER sell out. They'll be staring at 40,000 empty seats. What kind of bozo wrote that in the first place?

Its the 1000 block of SCN supporters in the block around the 40 yard line. Anyone else can buy but wont be in the official block.

Also, schools need to buy their band/dance team/lower level teams from their 1000 allotment so the tickets actually sold were much less.

My purpose in writing that was that edgy made a statement that scn would have the most fans at game and some survey asking the question about fan attendance

Thanks voodoo that’s what I was attempting to do

I am desperately trying to post a Gif video. It’s not letting me. I will work on it tonite. I might have to sign up for this damn gif site to get a link without the secure hhtp(s) link.

Does anyone know if I tweet it, can I then take the link from that tweet and put it into the media URL on the forum or the image section on the forum?

Iowa plays their games at northern iowa-dome
Capacity only 16,000 think that’s perfect size
Indiana at Lucas oil colts play there but dwarfs the crowds out
Only two in Midwest indoors?
No weather issues

@Voodoo Tatum 21

You can, but it won’t work from an iPhone or iPad for some reason. It’s not a safari thing because I can do it from my iMac and MacBook Pro.

Thanks! Going to try it tonite and see if I can get it to work. I stumbled upon this 4 sec gif video and actually choked on my Diet Coke I was drinking while laughing. I immediately thought of one posters entrance into a certain thread.

As an Iowa native I used to go back every year with my son for the championships until son got to the point he was still playing that time of year. Best part is you can show up and stay all day both days for every game because it’s inside. No way I’d stay outside for all Illinois games in the cold. That would be great if you could though.

Also a great place for the UNI games.... can be really loud atmosphere for big games. Best was Joe Flacco’s senior year when playing for Delaware and played at the UNI dome in the 1AA playoffs.... deafening!

I watched Iowa games on
I also like how they alternate small/big schools on game day
It looked like the stadium was packed because of size of crowd relative the capacity of the stadium
Dowling catholic won on a bad punt snap
Their 6 in a row

Well attendance is helped by neutral observers like I used to be because it’s indoors.

They don’t really alternate small/big they just make sure the 2 biggest classes play the night games. Day 1 is 8-man then Class A and the night game is 3A... day 2 is Class 1A then 2A then 4A. So the small schools play earlier games and both night caps are the 2 largest classes.

Iowa classes are:

8-Man
A
1A
2A
3A
4A

They don’t punish private schools they play in what ever class their enrollment dictates just like public schools.

They have districts in Iowa and used to take the top 2 in each of 8 districts per class now they have odd numbers of districts as dictated by need depending on how many schools fall into each class and they take the district champs and then at-larges to fill out the 16 team brackets and for first time they used an RPI rating system to pick the at larges. They had a 4-5 team with the toughest schedule in the state get in based on that this year in 4a and made a deep run and lost in the semifinal game 26-12 to cedar falls who played dowling tight in the title game, so they were very good for 4-5, I’d say the RPI system worked as intended. I saw them play because they play both semis and title games in the dome and both are broadcast on TV.

I thought it is general admission seating.

Always has been as far as I remember but my reference frame is only 2004 till today. Maybe it’s special for the Public schools and we were never read in as Catholics. Or perhaps only for SCN.

How come all of your posts look like they are written using the haiku format?

The Ohio HS championships used to be in the Horseshoe. Talk about a lot of empty seats.

They are now split between Paul Brown Stadium in Massillon (16k +- cap.) and the Canton McKinley stadium at the NFL HOF.....a tad bigger at 23k. Count me as someone who likes those football environments much more than a 90% empty 105k seat behemoth.
