This game is a real toss up imo....I think the Dogs can get the W 21-20. Of course Pryor is the man but I love how sweezy has progressed as QB. The kid is having a great year. I think burns holds their own up front as well. I can see Mitchell spying Pryor all evening. It will be one heck of a cc rivalry .

Toss up for sure. Two good teams going head to head and leaving it all out there. We are lucky to be in this county. I can’t imagine how wild this one will be. Both teams have to come out and show out. I think it comes down to the same thing I’ve read and heard elsewhere. They cannot let Bess sit back comfortable all night. He is talented and has a ton of talent running down the field. We have some young kids in secondary but that’s not an excuse. This is too late in the year to use that. They have been coached well and know what they should do. Can Shelby shut Pryor down? If so we may be in trouble but I think Pryor has a good night. I don’t predict scores but I think the Dogs can win a close one.
So your prediction is Burns 320 Shelby 14. Pryor will have to have a really big game for this score.
Yea....that's exactly what I'm thinking. Lol. We're the underdogs this week for sure. But not by much.
Interesting game. Right now I am leaning Shelby by 7-10 because the Lions are home. I believe both teams offensive lines will struggle with the other team’s d-line. Both d-lines are pretty stout. The key to Burns pulling out the win will be the qb and shortening the game. If Sweezy can make plays with his arm and feet than Burns has a good shot. The key for Shelby is establishing the running game. If Shelby can run the ball effectively than the Dawgs will have a long night.
Burns D has to get pressure on the old Burns QB, that has proven to work with some of Shelbys struggles in the past. Should be a good game and Shelby has the home field advantage that will help. Hope we can compete well with them since a possible round 2 is in the making
I really don't know, but could you imagine him running behind a line where everyone is 285 pounds or more? No one would see him.
Reminds me of Shelby, playing weak 4A school or lower tier 4A school on a down year.
He definitely has Southern University and Lenoir Rhyne as offers. Wake Forest has shown interest. Will likely play slot receiver on the next level.

Reidsvilles radio crew keep saying they could not understand why the Rams were not making any adjustments of defence..I was shocked how easy that East Surry was scoring on the Rams , I think the one thing that hurt Reidsville the most was they could not get any pressure on the OB .. It sure was a great ballgame ...
I think Burns can match Shelby with their top 5 or 6 athletes but can they match the entire team?Burns is coming in tomorrow with the eye of the...........bulldog.

Last night I was accosted by a Burns fan. In the store browsing minding my own business. I look up and there is this guy that looked just like Gollum pointing at my hoodie. He said Shelby Golden Lions! I was impressed he could read. He said we were going down Friday night and we played in the weak 2A. He reminded me that Burns beat us last year and I replied yes you beat us but what else did you do? He had no reply just more gibberish I couldn't decipher. Must be Upper CC dialect. I still can't believe how much he looked like Gollum.
Expecting dog fight friday night burns has nice group of young athletes a mean dline and not to mention they have best player on field...longer game stays close more it benefits bulldogs

I get so tired of the never ending stereotyping of Upper Cleveland County. Some of the best people in the world live up here. I am originally from a “real” city, a big city, and I moved here and went to Burns High. I can tell you- I missed nothing at all by graduating from Burns. Everybody knows Shelby is always the team to beat most years, that’s what makes beating them so satisfying. Win or lose- we’ll give you a battle. If all you can do is belittle us to make yourselves feel better then please know anyone loyal to light blue, gold and white knows that none of you below Zion church road is any better than the Bulldogs. In fact, the years we beat y’all several years I a row we got worried that beating Shelby was getting a little too anti-climatic.
