- Really glad to see Striker get going today. By far his most productive day in a while. He needs to be on the field on every defensive snap, as well as Bond (for the most part), Charles Walker and Steven Parker. I know that's not necessarily possible with Parker being the nickel, but I think Parker could replace either Byrd or A. Thomas at the safety spots and be an upgrade. Not that Byrd or Thomas are playing terrible, but Parker is better.

- Jordan Thomas is better than Sanchez. There! I said it. Sanchez is good but Thomas is bigger, stronger, faster, and appears to move with more fluidity.

- Get Mark Andrews more involved. This isn't rocket science and it's a little frustrating that he isn't out there more. He's a mismatch for just about any DB or linebacker.

- Still not sure how I feel about this defensive scheme we're employing. It's not really a 3-4 or a nickel. I think we'd be better with another big body on the line, Striker, Alexander and Bond at the linebackers, and Thomas, Sanchez, Parker and Byrd or A. Thomas in the back.

- I know a lot of fans were worried about this game but I don't think West Virginia is as good as advertised, at least not offensively. We're still not ready for Baylor's passing game and Boykin's running ability. However, Baylor and TCU aren't exactly lighting up the world with their defenses. Whomever gets their defense shored up in the last quarter of the season is going to win the Big XII.

- Once again, Austin Seibert is quietly making a case for the nation's best kicker, and a true freshman I don't think he's getting the love he deserves. Enjoy what you're seeing folks because guys like this don't come along often. Dude is cool as a cucumber.

- Maybe it's just me but I feel like we're missing something by not trying to use a screen a few times a game with Mixon. Does anybody know if the Air Raid just doesn't involve much screen game or what?

Good read, bcsooner.
West Virginia is not very good, even considering it entered the game yesterday with a 3-0 record. Those three wins were against poor teams and were all home games. West Virginia may not win again until November considering its October schedule....and the fact that it is not very good.
My concern for OU is the offensive line, the overall play on defense and the erratic and undisciplined play on both sides of the ball. It is my hope that these issues get resolved soon or at least by November.
OU has much more talent than Tulsa and West Virginia, but reckless and sloppy play kept the games much closer than they should have been. Tennessee is now 2-3 having only won against Bowling Green and Western Carolina and losing close games to OU, Florida and Arkansas. So how good is OU right now ? That won't be known until November unless K-State and Texas Tech ambush the Sooners.
I'm relieved to see OU at 4-0 right now, but the jury is still out on this team. When I see how Ohio State and Michigan State struggled yesterday and how UCLA, Alabama, Notre Dame and Georgia have hit some bumps, I feel that OU is in a good situation now to get better and to keep winning. TCU, Baylor and O-State will likely define this year's team once and for all.

Bcs Andrews was on the field alot yesterday but only as a blocker. I think the coach still lack confidence in our oline and deservedly so....I remember that guys highlights coming out of his, he was big time

This is exactly what I was wondering during the game as well. WV kept sending the house and we didn't do any screens. There was one time when it looked like we had a RB go out in the flat, where he was wide open, but so was Sheppard and he got a TD. Either one could've taken it to the house.

Let me rephrase it. When he was on the field yesterday it was only as a blocker....well most of the time. Is Andrews just a rs freshman?

BCS I agree with a lot of your post.

If we use the Mixon screen against Baylor, he might have a Tavon Austin like game. The TCU game scares me, we bite hard on the one option read play, yesterday. The Oline, just isn't getting it done, Andrews has to block. It's a shame,he is the real deal.

How did you get all of your post from the other boards on here or have you posted 25k on this board alone? I just posted on here for the 1st time a few weeks ago and my count shows single digits. But I can post again on the Bevo boards, I guess my run ins with Willow are now forgiven.

WVU us not very good?? Let me remind you we were only down 3 in the 2nd half. Our QB had 5 turnovers, and nobody can recover from that. Take away the turnovers and it's a different game. Not taking anything away from you guys because you def have a good team, but to say we don't have a good team means you don't know football very well. We will still end up with 8 or 9 wins this year, and I am predicting we knock off either TCU or Baylor. You guys are tough to beat at hole and had an extra week to prepare but I don't think you are that much better.

Like I said take away the turnovers and it is probably a different outcome.

You guys will lose at least 2 this year so enjoy your victory.

That's so stupid lol. Turnovers are part of football. That's like saying "well if that basketball player didn't turn the ball over 10 times it would have been closer"... I mean geez dude, give credit where its due

On one drive we had 55 yards of penalties. Take away all our mistakes and we win by a lot more.

That's right, West Virginia is not very good....but that is not saying OU doesn't have issues and it's anyone's guess how many games OU will win this season. You might want to check WVA's October schedule which includes back-to-back games at Baylor and TCU, sandwiched in between games with OSU and Texas Tech. Good luck.

Both teams were undisciplined. Each have holes in their offensive lines. WVU is solid to good at LB and DB but even the best DBs cant cover forever.

I like WVU's chances to upset Baylor or TCU but would'nt be shocked to see them take a beating if the wheels fall off.

I would love seeing West Virginia upsetting TCU or Baylor or OSU, which could happen. I just looked at West Virginia's body of work through 4 games and it is not at all impressive. Wins over Georgia Southen and Liberty and a 45-6 win over a bad Maryland team before losing yesterday....in a game played poorly by both teams...tells me West Virginia has a lot of work to do if it has any chance of winning its October games.
