I just hope they don't jinx us getting bowl eligible vs. UGA.

I remember Orange Bowl reps coming to our game and then we went on a ungodly losing streak.
Even if we lose, we are still going to one of those two bowls, or perhaps the Belk. Worst case is Birmingham or Shreveport but only if South Carolina or Vandy qualifies, and we get screwed and get behind them somehow.

We beat both so no way we fall behind either if they qualify. Especially Vandy because bowls are about selling tickets and Vandy just won't. The bowl committees know we travel very well and are eager for a bowl game so we will more than likely wind up in a bowl a notch above where we should be. Which is why I'm not counting out the Outback bowl at 7 wins even. UK grads started the Outback chain.

Texas Bowl in Houston would be my #1 pick. Unless we win the SEC East....
To me that is one of the last ones I want us to go there. We don't recruit that area what so ever. Hard trip for a lot of fans to get there. I know we have a decent alumi down there but think a Florida bowl would be perfect. Let's play down where we recruit. Every news piece on sports is heard by potential recruits.

Nashville, Memphis would be good choices as well as far for program. Just trying to look big picture. Florida will help crowd as a lot of older fans will be heading that way anyways and helps ticket sales. And a Florida kid sees fan support could help us going forward also.

His name starts with "TXCat," I'm pretty sure he's talking about his personal preference. In similar vein I'm hoping Nashville because that's really the only trip I could make from Lexington with my work schedule.

The big deal about a bowl, even a minor one, is the team gets 20 days more practice. As valuable as spring practice and usually good TV coverage. Recruits watch their potential and wannabe colleges on TV. An average Florida player can develop and be a very solid player even though he cant get in a top ten school. The looked over high school athlete can help make Kentucky a perennial contender in the SEC. It's all good.

Is there a bigger boondoggle in the world than being a bowl rep? Completely pointless job.

That's dream living.
A moderator on a message board? I'm KIDDING! I'm KIDDING! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I don't know, maybe those Derby Festival dudes that get a free car to ride around in during Derby week...

It's actually 15 extra practices, but your point remains valid. But I wouldn't say it's a minor point. Those extra practices are HUGE. This is where your freshmen and younger players get a huge boost in personal coaching attention. It is a big, big deal for teams that go bowling.

Personally I'd like to see some boys from the Georgia Dome make an appearance.

Well, those guys are just part timers. There are plenty go bowl directors that make over $500,000 per year for their "work".

Peace

Can't go to peach. Unless we make the playoffs as it's a final four game this year.
Getting to Atlanta is the goal every year.

But those guye don't send reps. If you win you go. There is not much recruiting to go to that game
Dude, I know. I was simply making an attempt in my first post to imply UK@SECCG. That's it. Nothing more. Sheesh.

CFN still not giving us much love. They are projecting us to the Belk Bowl in Charlotte against N.C. State.

When UK was there several fans got robbed and cars broken into.

Being from the area I can tell you guys, Park under a light post and take your bible. Memphis is a thug, slum, disgusting city. There's a reason Cal said he'd have crawled over broken glass to get to Lexington.

^This and it beats the hell out of Memphis, that autozone stadium sucks and whole area sucks

But, and I'll add this, being from the area, I love seeing UK have a game here. Nothing pisses UM fans off more than being invaded by the true Blue team.
