all afternoon, and how good their defense is, I truly hope we meet them in the Liberty Bowl. I've got a few smug, short-armed Eskimo friends I need to shut up.

I'm sure this will only inflate the unearned egos. I can see them getting slaughtered in most bowl games they could play in.

having to pull out a game from 7 years ago that we played under a coach that's already been fired. Surely you can do better than that. Oh wait, I guess you can't since Mullen hasn't lost to a team the caliber of Marshall since he's been here.

You guys are having one of the best years in school history and still lost to a bottom feeder in your conference and you bring up when we lost to Maine inside a group of years when we haven't even been competitive. Even funnier... you bring up basketball when in one of your best years last season you don't even get invited to the NIT. Please.. keep trying, because this is entertaining.

</div><div>Doesn't answer the question as to how, if your program is so stellar, it took overtime against a WAC team to account for one of your 5 wins in 2011. Have you people even looked at your current wins/your "schedule"?</div><div>
</div><div><div>Memphis? (CUSA)</div><div>LA Tech (WAC)</div><div>UAfingB? (CUSA) Nice comeback after being down 3-0 AT HALFTIME</div><div>Kentucky??? ("SEC")</div><div>UT Martin??? (An FCS powerhouse)</div><div>
</div><div>We have as many wins against BCS-AQ in 2011 as you have... and at least that team has a winning record.</div><div>
</div><div>You limelight has long faded, and your Mullen cannot save you. He's Croom with a couple more wins and shoulders that never seem to de-shrug.</div></div><div>
</div><div>Win an SEC West game against a team not named Ole Miss and we can talk more. For now, we've got an 18th consecutive season and 10th straight bowl game to focus on. Have fun in Nashville, or whatever.</div>

either lack a chromosome, more than half of their brain cells or just a casualty of a failed abortion.<div>
</div><div>No one here is saying that MSU is an elite program. You'll find more people here that will say why we will never be than those that legitimately believe that which is currently at 0.</div><div>
</div><div>You're talking about our wins, but why don't you actually assess our losses. 2 of them have been against teams ranked in the top 3, 1 of them is against the eventual winner of the SEC East, another is against the previous national champions, and another is against a currently top 15 team that was the SEC East champion last year and all of them were teams that have been ranked at some point in time (Auburn being the only one not ranked right now).</div><div>
</div><div>The only argument you'll hear is that if you guys seriously are comparable to us (which you just did) then there is no way in hell you guys are a quality BCS team. That shouldn't be a hard thing to grasp. And don't even say dumb **** like us needing to beat an SEC West team before we can talk to yall when it's been over 8 years you guys have even won the mighty C-USA along with losing to teams like Marshall and UAB on a consistent basis. Do you honestly realize how retarded you sound?</div>

I should have caught that. Come back when you can fill that stadium of yours up, even in your best years.

Have fun where ever you CUSA people that don't make the liberty bowl go. I'm not even sure. But what I am sure of, is that at 6-6, we'll make a better bowl than you at 11-1.

I guess you could make the Liberty if Houston goes to BCS, in which case, Nashville would still be a better bowl.

When you only have 10 fans, the chances of 1 of them finding this board has to be pretty low. I am going to guess someone on here created a user name just for a laugh orpossiblythis is<span id="name" class="n fn"><span class="full-name"><span class="given-name">Harold</span> <span class="family-name">Graeter from the Liberty Bowl in a sad attempt to make State consider turning down the Music City bowl to play the buzzards.</span></span></span></p>

The Liberty Bowl? You mean the one you went to in 2007 and only 1 of your only 2 bowl appearances in the last 10 years? That Liberty Bowl?

You can also call it the bowl where State beat the best team in your conference.Incidentally, it was the same team that anally raped USM a few games before.

It's sad that on the same weekend Southern Miss is wrapping up another successful season, Mississippi State will be playing their biggest rival on ESPNU, meaning the SEC network would rather broadcastTennessee at Kentucky over the (my goodness, how did y'all let this name stick?) The Egg Bowl.

I don't think I've ever wanted to go to the Liberty Bowl this bad in my life. 2014 can't come soon enough!!!
To The Top of that empty bowl you folks call a rock.

I did. And had it not been for a blatant offensive pass interference call that somehow the ref called defensive pass interference, Southern would have lost that game too. And yall lost to Marshall... Marshall... Really? You play in the conference USA. Only 4 teams have winning records.

"Anally raped" = 17 point loss? Really?<div>
</div><div>I can understand why anal rape is on your mind.</div>
Since you obviously missed his point, I will elaborate.

In 2007, our team, who had gone 7-5 in the SEC was awarded an invite to the Liberty Bowl to play UCF, a 10-win team who had offensively dominated CUSA. For over a month, all we heard about was some running back who was *THIS CLOSE* to breaking the great Barry Sanders' all-time rushing record.

We got to hear about how they were going to run the ball all over us, and how they were going to beat our asses because we were just lowly Mississippi State and we sucked because we had just won 7 games.

Yep, it was going to be an offensive explosion for UCF - and they were going to win going away.

Until, of course, we played the game.

They scored 3. $#**$@*. points.

As a matter of fact, the mighty CUSA champions record in the Liberty Bowl against mid-tier SEC teams is a stellar 1-4.

So please, take your weak smack, along with your weak program, and limp your polyester-clad *** back to your high school stadium. You and the 10 other USM fans out there can talk amongst yourselves all you want - nobody else gives a damn.

When we line up in a couple of years to play you, we will expose your program for the fraud it is when we beat the ever-loving snot out of you. Until then? Go away.

Unbelievable.

bamassippi - may I reminder you those 5 losses have come against the BCS #1, 2, 12, 14 and 24th teams in the country.

USM has yet to even play a team in the top 25.

Not an apples-to-apples comparison.

And as for basketball... Don't even go there. The last time Southern graced the NCAA tournament was a blowout 115-85 loss... in 1991!

Actually, a private U for undergrad and grad. It's more expensive than State... but I wouldn't know much about that side of education because I'm too smart to have to pay tuition with all these scholarships, much less tuition to (literally) a cowbell college.

Strong words from the SEC, which only has 6 teams with winning records. <div>
</div><div>...and do you really want to brag about your own "winning record" when only one of those teams is a BCS-AQ squad? Run along.</div>

Strong words from a program who's had to play two Thursday night games thus far just to get air time; one of those not equating to ESPN.

Do you seriously believe that Southern Mississippi University could compete on the level of any SEC school? Seriously. Stop and think about that for a minute. Quit being jealous that we are in a solid conference and your school is in a **** conference. It AMAZES me how you bastards come over here talking **** when you are havingone goodseason. It's like little brother has finally hit puberty and wants to pick a fight with big brother. I can't wait till you get smacked in the mouth by Houston, or even us (if weplay in theLiberty Bowl). Christ. you are talking **** about our 2007 team that beat CUSA's conference champion? Do you realize that our team wasnot very goodthat year? We were 4 plays from being 3-9 and we still beat the "mighty" CUSA champs.

Come on dude. Quit being so 17ing subjective and look at the facts. You are a **** school from a **** conference thriving on success that is derived from the depths of football medicocrity at best (and thats a long shot). If you want ANYONE to take you seriously, schedule some non conference games with AQ teams and fill your 36k stadium out for one 17ing time. Then, maybe someone will look at Southern Mississippi University and say "Wow, MS has 3 schools? I didn't know that"

But you ALWAYS lose to Auburn, Bama, LSU, Arkansas, and the rest. <div>
</div><div>The only West team you've beaten since Jesus Christ Mullen arrived is Ole Miss.</div><div>
</div><div>In addition, us "lowly" mid-major types haven't exactly been a piece of cake. You've gone 6-2 since Mullen arrived, with 2 wins against MTSU, 2 wins against UAB, Memphis (my goodness do y;all remember how you bragged about dominating #119 Memphis?), and an OVERTIME (seriously, I'd kill myself) win over LA Tech.</div><div>
</div><div>You'd rather be the ugly girl in the best sorority. It's sad.</div><div>
</div><div>I'll take my 33K passionate fans over your 45K (the other 10K are made up of travelling SEC fans and/or 2 seats for 1 Chi Omega) fans any day.</div>
