made the trip to Tuscaloosa Saturday to knock another stadium off the see the all in my lifetime list. (Got all the sec east, miss st, ole miss, lsu, va tech, Ohio state, Norte dame uofl and couple other small schools and now Bama.

Location and surroundings. (A++++). Parking wasn't awful after research (free in garage). Loved all the restraunts, bars, shops on the strip. Made killing time before the game without a tailgate (we don't do it as know very few people who go to commonwealth). Had a seven yr old and we enjoyed the black warrior brewery early with cat fans and ate mellow mushroom. Wife really enjoyed having something to do around stadium. Where commonwealth as a non tailgater has nothing going on. Homecoming parade was nice also. Family enjoyed pregame a lot. Tuscaloosa was a great town.

People. (A++++++). Nicest fans I have run into. 90 percent of the people we passed welcomed us to Alabama, ask if we had a good trip, asked about basketball, best people we have ran across. Great people to talk too. Alabama (behind U.K. Of course)gained a couple new fans here. Heard roll tide 6929572958385728483 times lol

Stadium atmosphere (b) I know it wasn't a big game and rupp tends to be that way and kinda dead if it isn't a rival. But crowd was very knowledgeable. Thought the coach on defense trying to pump crowd was kinda corny. No entry music was odd and just said this is Alabama football as they ran out. (Kids favorite part at everywhere he has been is entrance). Band was great though and huge amount of members. Music selection was ok, mix of old rock, rap and country. (Much like commlmwealt). Would love to make an iron bowl trip to get the full experience. Did get a big time football field just from the stadium.

Stadium thoughts. (B). Need bigger video boards. Upper deck was straight up and down. Concourse was kinda small. Really like commonwealth better.

Great trip, fun time would make it again.

We were that also and I agree with most of what you said. To me as you walk around the campus with the statues and the Bear and Sabasn on audio and video you could just feel the history of the program! Very impressive!! Saw MB and son before Catwalk and you would think he could look around and get a good idea of some of the things they are doing wrong.

Speaking of bb, I had one of the ushers tell me in a couple of years they are going to be beating UK with Avery Johnson and I didn't bring it up he did...I was asking him where Bill Curry's statue was!!

Thank you for this review.. Alabama is my 2nd favorite team to watch currently. Also, part of my family lives there. Good people when I have visited. Usually natural in the south. Love the south.

I was so far up I couldn't tell you they had a dance team! only reason I seen the band was there was about 500 of them. (They had as many baton twirlers as we do cheerleaders). Scenery was nice , had a girl in red sun dress (smoking 10) fall out of the top of her dress dancing lol.

Was there too, stadium is big, CWS is nicer, obviously not as big. Overall, main item missing at UK , is a winning football program. Interesting ,as we were leaving in the fourth quarter, so we're a lot of young and old Alabama fans. They also didn't come into their seats until shortly before the game started! Maybe the U.K. effect!

My first visit to Tuscaloosa and was not disappointed. The fans were great! Speaking to us, acknowledging us, and some even stopping to strike up a conservation. Very much unlike our Gainesville trip where we had fans giving us the finger, calling us names, and just being pure asshats. Not one fan said or did anything derogatory toward us. We certainly felt more welcomed in Tuscaloosa.

My favorite place was "The Quad". It's a huge field next to the stadium with lots of tents set up for tailgating. If there was a huge field like that at UK (and most other places) that close to the stadium, it would be a parking lot and commanding the highest premium. We parked for free a little less than a mile from the stadium and walked down the sidewalk past all the beautiful fraternity and sorority buildings that were immaculate.

The stadium and ambience is magnificent and really big. At least twice the size of Commonwealth, but not necessarily better for watching a football game in the upper deck.

Bama is easily my favorite school in the SEC not counting UK.

This was my 10th trip to Bryant Denny and without a doubt the quietest I've ever heard it, the spring practice game was louder

Went to Bama in '03. Upon opening the car door, had 'em inviting us to tailgate, which we did.

UK crowd was impressive at Bama, this year. Good job OP, and others who went. I could clearly hear a "block that kick" chant late in 4th quarter when the game was outta' reach.

I made the trip as well. Fans were Great! I've been to The Shoe, ND, UL, Vandy, and Tenn. If I was being sought after by these schools as a young man to play football I would go to Bama!!! The campus and the people are the best!

I love the way the PA announcer always goes "THIS is Alabama football".

I was also at the UK-Bama game in '03. Tide fans were friendly and had a great time. Would love to get me some more Dreamland ribs if I could ever make it back down there.

I got some Dreamland ribs when I went to Kentucky's last bowl game in Birmingham. Definitely worth a stop for a meal if you're ever in Alabama.

I was also at the game. People were extremely nice. We stopped at two bars and Mooyah for Burgers. Stadium was clean and big - Commonwealth is nicer - IMO - but half the size too! Fans treated us well - thanking us constantly for coming to Bama. I told them they needed someone to sacrifice at their homecoming. By the way - I thought the team played well overall. The Kentucky fans were treated to a great effort by the team - if we do play that well the rest of the season - we should still win 7! But I am smart enough to know that is not going to happen - lols! One interesting comment - more black people on the field of 200 people than in the crowd of over 100,000 people - hummm????

Go Big Blue!
