That's because most of us Purdue fans do not really care if he goes to Louisville to be honest.
The longer it takes, the more coaches are in the vetting process. Which is good for UL.
I think the longer it takes, the better for Purdue as well.
I think most care, but aren't going to be crushed by it. Purdue fans for the most part are a logical bunch. Everyone has had plenty of time to emotionally process "Brohm to Louisville" for 4 years. This has been hanging over the program for years.
One way or the other this circus ends this week for good. I do think most Purdue fans are fine with it either way (because they understand the why and appreciate what Brohm has already achieved).
I'd be glad if he stayed. I'll be fine if he leaves. Up to him what he wants for the rest of his career.

But you are right. We won't be crushed. It would be nice, however, to have continuity especially during this Portal era.
I’ll play devils advocate and say that I’ll be less crushed BECAUSE of the portal. You can rebuild/reload much quicker. One bad class can be bolstered over the next 3/4 years with the portal.
In the “old days” a coaching change could kill 2 recruiting classes and there was no way to recover, other than taking a chance on some JUCOs.
Don’t think we don’t appreciate you swinging by the Louisville board to let us know that you don’t care.
You're right for sure. But it's still easier maintain continuity with the same coach augmenting his roster through the portal than for a new coach to blow it up and start over by portal shopping.
Here's a guy who I think Brohm should try to get to come to U of L. Former WKU QB Austin Reed. He was ranked as the #2 QB in the nation throwing for over 4,000 yards and 36 TD's. He's a grad senior with 1 year eligibility but seems like a typical QB that would thrive under Brohm. He's 6-2 and 230 lbs. He would help immediately.
And I remember the last time this happened 4 years ago when the UofL fans were coming over to the Purdue board gloating on how Brohm was leaving...smart bunch...

I think Brohm would make a great fit at Louisville.
Dave Lackford of Rivals thinks we will lose most of the NIL kids (Clarkson, etc,) Unfortunately in this situation, Lackford has connections...The best LACK of news so far…no decommitments yet. Kind of lends credence to the thought that the Class of 2023 was not tied to Satterfield.
You are taking him completely out of context. He said that going off past history on how coaching changes work. Not from any intel. So no, not from connections but his personal assumption.
Well if Clarkson and crew don’t like Brohm then I don’t know what to say. His offense is about as QB, WR, and TE friendly as they come. Owens is another story I could see him having serious question.
I have no idea how it will ultimately turn out but, there is a good article on Cardinal Authority regarding the recruiting class. They quote two of the players saying specially “I didn’t sign for Scott Satterfield”.
Purdue - despite being pass heavy - had a feature RB who got lots of carries. As importantly, they used him in the pass game - which should be appealing to any RB with NFL aspirations.
Nice try.. Until he signs a contract, he is still officially the HC at Purdue. A smart coach keeps coaching...
Look I know it doesn't happen this way all the time but you sell a kid on the university and whether that school offers the degree/academics you need. Less than 5% athletes end up playing professionally. As we know, coaches change jobs all too frequently. I think that's why the portal is what it is... There are currently over 50+ QB's alone right now in the portal.
Satterfield really put the screws to Louisville. I don’t blame him just a fact timing was terrible. No way for Brohm or any coach to avoid this they have to recruit until the deal is done.
So what do you think Brohm is telling his recruits? Oh by the way I'm quitting day after tomorrow? I'm pretty sure he is a straight up guy that would not lie in someone's front room.
Why is Brohm the only coach in this situation? What did Brian Kelly tell his ND recruits? As i said previously, you sell the school, the university, the town and the opportunity to play football on a scholarship. Its a risk, every football player has to take. Let's take Satterfield for instance. Apparently everything he told his players was a lie. Being honest means at that particular moment, I'm the coach at Purdue. That's all I can disclose at this point.
If I'm a parent, I would be more concerned about a coach that says I'm going to be your coach no matter what until you graduate... A kid can leave anytime now, thanks to the portal. Its the coaches who are being left high and dry compared to the players. How many kids say, yeah coach I'm with you thick and thin and end up leaving for another school.
How many players at UC had the opportunity to voice their opinion on whether they wanted Scottie as their coach? Hmm... crickets. 0%. If you don't like it you can leave. If a coach gets another offer that he feels he can't pass on because his family, well you have to respect his decision and move on.

Yeah it's basically a spread offense that uses the pass to set up the run. It's been a few years but we've seen it here before.
Yes, but their awful nature is offset by Bloomington Bagel Co. That ish is delicious and I really wish they would open one in Louisville.

Pat Forde has an article up at SI noting that last time Brohm would have seen leaving as being dishonorable because he was so new rot Purdue and had done little. Now he got the program rolling toward better days, so this time he might go home..
I think Forde makes sense. I don't say that all that much about him.
