An incredibly successful, frustrating, fun, irritating half of football

I feel like a head case right now (LOL). Not sure if I'm thrilled to be up 14 or pissed it isn't 28.

This football team has gotten SO much better since early-September. The OL is physical. The backs are physical. The front seven has morphed into a group that I actually have confidence in.

Among the few things left to fix though...freaking turnovers. My goodness. You'd think Kentucky would have a +2 day on occasion just based on laws of average. So frustrating.

Anyhow, a dominant half by the boys in blue. How nice is it to be -2 TO margin BUT still up 14 on the road in the division?

Exactly, we don't need to come out conservative and attempt to just hold the lead. We need to keep pounding away at their defense and just take care of the turnovers o pull away in the 2nd half and build great momentum going into the Georgia game. No let up, please, Stoops.

I'm with you UKErik. And I am afraid to get too excited with the 14 point lead. You would think they could have fixed those high passes Johnson keeps throwing. We would be awesome if he could hit those over the middle passes that keep going high. Go Cats!!

This 2nd Half of football will tell us a lot about Coach Stoops.

Can he instill the maturity in a team to put the foot on the gas and take control of this game?

Or will we see the SAME OLD UK football of the past 20 years and watch Mizzou come back and possibly win the game?

We are going to find out a lot right now.

I really hope UK turns the corner as a program and blows out Mizzou in the 2nd Half.

As happy as I am, we left 9-17 points off the board. Must get a stop to start the half and then keep pounding. Love the new formation, twins spread wide to each side of the field. Makes it pretty easy for Steven. He's needs to pull the ball a couple times this half to keep the defense honest......but get down or out of bounds as soon as someone is within 3 yards of him. Otherwise, keep it up!

I like the decision by Stoops/Gran to turn Johnson loose with a minute left to try and get more points instead of just running out the half content with the half time lead. Even though he threw the pick I like the aggression nature of the call. Mistakes happen A LOT in college football unlike the NFL.

Agree, there were several instances in the first half where it looked like we should have run the ball for a relatively short first down to keep a drive alive but passed instead and either fell incomplete or Johnson ran around for little to no gain. I like your idea of letting Boom and Snell take over. I'm thinking we see more Wildcat in the 2nd half.

We have to keep pounding it on the ground and if we are going to pass make it short, we have two turnovers and are still ahead 21 to 7, we should me more but I'm happy to be leading an away game in the SEC. Why can't we have a punter that can boot the ball more than 35 yards, I would get that changed, hold tryouts or something. There is no excuse for not having a punter, he is terrible.
