Carroll County is a class 4 school in Virginia, with an ADM of 1,153 students (see first link). In North Carolina they would be a 3A school, as their size is almost identical to Rockingham County High (see second link)

Does Virginia go to 5A or 6A or stop at 4A.
I noticed schools with ADMs as high as 2700+.. I think maybe 6A sense Salem is 4A and ADM 1153

They have six classes. The largest school is 3,500 students, smallest is 58.

I posted on another tread from a Carroll county news paper article in 2016 that Carroll county high school because of distance between them and the other schools left a split 3a , 4a & 6a conference for a 2a conference where they would be the only 4a school in it. This past season was they're first one in this conference.

I do remember them playing 2a ball when Mt Airy played them some few years back. Co workers son plays ther now said they were 4a I thought that was a huge jump in which there adms in Va differ from ours if they go to 6a

Carroll & Patrick Counties only have one High School each. Carroll has one City School ,Galax

Not sure how long ago but VA only had three classifications that subdivided for team sports.

They played in 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 .. Mount Airy won them all by 3 or more TDs, 2014 was 55 to 7 and that was the last game and Elkin took that week which was the 3rd game of the year and Elkin is still the 3rd game.
