No shocker from a hater. You jumped on that like a rabid dog.

Greg is a gentleman and a great guy. Every interaction I have had with him has been positive, unlike the previous guy. While the results in terms of W-L have not been good, he has stabilized the erosion of the program. The next two seasons will tell if he can get the program on a winning track on the field. Everybody has their good and bad moments.

Rabid dog lol. Simmer down, he’s just a football coach. No need to be so emotional.

The payoff Year is year three, though we might be able to win the next two seasons.

All I usually back you, but on year three not so much
Yeas 3 oi G2 was a step backwards, year 4 is when the program will show
it's on the right path.

And if not year 4, then it’s just gotta be year 5!
If the team doesn't show improvement in it's play this year , many of G2 defenders will stop defending.
The product put on the feild might not bring in a bowl invite, but must show that it will in year 5 by being competitive ,even, against the better opponents and winning against the middle of pack conference foes during year 4
The only handicap RU should have is Greg's USGA one

Last time I had an interaction with Schiano at an event where he was planned to interact with the public he was kinda a dick. So no I'm not interested in playing with Greg.

I think I played in this during Greg v1 though.

He’s not kind of a dick. He is a dick, but that’s exactly what we need to push kids to be the best they can be. People may not like him, but they will have to respect what he’s accomplished, because no one else could have performed similarly, imo, given our constraints.

Guess his mantra that Greg is the only guy who can win here is out the window.

Look at the caliber of kids he’s recruiting in his fourth recruiting class, which will put this program over the top. We are looking good for a number of key prospects. Whom else could have recruited like this, despite less than stellar results. I would assert,No One.

My opinion
The truth is , maybe Greg was the best on of the ones willing to put their careers on the line ( because his career wasn't on the upswing )and was the only one RU would give most of what is needed to succeed at RU because of his popularity with many of the fanbase who put pressure on Hobbs to hire him.
I'm sure there were better choices, but think through third party talks that those choices felt what would be offered in the type of pay and support Rutgers would give wasn't enough for them to put their hat in the ring.

Some are whining Hobbs should have hired ( insert name here) But I feel
that the best ones wouldn't come after hearing through confidential discussions with a RU rep what RU was offering and let it be known , privately, for RU not to ask them in for an interview.

Or make demands (through 3rd party) that they know RU probably wouldn't accept, before the talking started while claiming they were interested in the job because of a legal obligation to seek employment due to a buyout they received .
Making sure they wouldn't be asked to interview for the job unless Rutgers was willing to give them what they wanted.
Schiano had to fight tooth and nail to get some of what he claimed needed to succeed and some RU supporters think he got too much.
Support is something that makes RU not a top job , because despite a great area it's in publicity wise, RU FB doesn't receive the type of support most top programs receive from the administration and boosters .

When I think of this board's support
It's not damm the torpedoes full steam ahead
It's we got the wrong brand of gas, we can't go on, paddle to shore

edit: bori blanco only wanted to inform about the golf outing
and in typical TKR interaction this tread became about Schiano's coaching rather than a chance to golf with him.
For those in the area that like to golf, this might be a chance to enjoy Greg's company or tell him what you think of him while hitting the links in support of Rutgers

We reset due to the new coaches 😉

So the clock resets every time new coaches come in? How many new coaches get to add time to the clock?

Does this reset simply happen in perpetuity?

The Schiano-heads have a very hard time expecting something tangible from him.

Don't let Al be the voice for anyone but himself. He is probably one of very few that feels this way, but you seem to want to validate his distorted view as representative osf a larger group. Schiano heads? That's a new one.

So what’s your expectation for a winning season. When? We are in year 4 lol

Do you know how to use the reply function?
Expectation? It's unsettled, and it should not be.

Major concerns at WR, TE and at QB, particularly since their has been very little in the way of pickups like Sean Ryan from a couple of years ago. We lost 90+% of our production at WR.
Maybe a better question is what is my definition of what would be considered an "acceptable" season. Is that fair?

Minimum of 5 wins, preferably 6. That means the first 3 (NW, Temple, VT) are must wins, with Wagner being a guaranteed 4th (if RU gets those first 3). That lease Indiana and MSU as our next most likely 2 wins, followed by Maryland and perhaps Iowa. Not gonna sugar coat it- 6 wins is going to take some work wiht our schedule. Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, Iowa and Maryland are going to be difficult games, in that order.

No more than two blowouts (losses of 21 or more points).

Would you consider 6 wins acceptable (take your hatred out of the equation).

EDIT- Also, what's your proposal for when to cut the cord? This is year 4. RU gave the previous coaches, Flood (4 years, probably would have gotten 5 if not for the disciplinary issues) and Ash 3.5 years. So, we wait and see how this year pans out. 5 wins gets him another year to show further progress. Not going to make a call on 4 wins, But 3 or less is a problem IMO.

STEEP pricing. I get it’s a fundraiser but good lord $500 for a single? I played a fundraiser at congressional blue last year where there was 2 meals and an open bar for $400 and thought that was high (but worth it because when else will I get a chance to play it)

Boosters wanted, willing to spend money.
