You know how at the bottom of the screen they do that little score ticker thing and they usually show some stats underneath the score briefly??

Saw 2 things to rub salt into the wound. I'm freehanding here from memory but the gist of what I'm saying is what was shown on the ticker.
OU's RB had a career high / (season high??) rushing against us. 19 carries for 101 yards. - Once again we make another teams running back look outstanding.

OU's QB had a career low / (season low?) in passing yardage. Only 150 yrds. - And we still never had a chance in that game. Pitiful.

Yes, I did see that. Season high & low respectively. That's how it goes.

If a team doesn't have to throw the ball, they generally don't. If the OU running game was moving the ball they had no reason to throw it. The old saying about passing "when you throw a pass, three things can happen and two of them are bad" is true.

I remember a season around 2009 or so, Garcia was qb, when SC had the number one pass defense in the SEC. We gave up the fewest passin yards of any team in the conference. That stat was something of a point of pride. Unfortunately, the reason we gave up so few passing yards was that no team had to throw the ball against us, they could run at will on us.

And OU had a lot more penalties than us and won convincingly. At one point they had like 9 penalties and we had zero and they were up a couple td's. Ridiculous

I am not sure this matters but I thought the reduction in the number of penalties was the result of having Elliott as OL coach.
He only had a week to work on that but was successful. If he can now get them to block better we might just get to 5 wins.
