Pain in the very outward tip of shoulder which restricts movement above your head straight out (especially when you rotate your arm in)? Also, extreme pain when you lightly press on the spot with the tip of a finger.
What is the remedy? Getting old sucks!

stretching and strengthening exercises .. you can do the exercises at home but a good idea to get direction from a PT. Mine was extremely painful .. they ended up cleaning up the joint and cutting off a part of my collarbone to give a little room for relief. PT works to strengthen all the muscles around the joint to keep it from slipping out (which is what caused it in the first place)

Hopefully it doesn't digress into 3 consecutive shoulder surgeries like mine did.

How kind did you put up with it before you saw a doc?
lay off doing things .. ice .. aleve .. I stayed away from the doc too long and the severity of it is what caused other issues (based on what they told me later).

I will alsp say that Aleve helps the most with my shoulder pain, more than other over the counter pain meds.

I think I can help diagnose you.

First question. Does it hurt when you reach behind you to unhook your bra?

I went through physical therapy get 4 months... Helped with some of the mobility but still have issues.....

Probably need surgery to totally fix it but can't afford it monetarily and not sure if I can lose the use of my hand fur a few months

Hang from a chin up bar. Fixes a lot of shoulder crap.

I tore my labrum (stop giggling) I did Physical therapy for 4-6 weeks to restrengthen the muscles to keep the shoulder in place. Impingement was a side effect of the injury.

What ultimately helped the actual impingement after about 4 weeks of it not getting a whole lot better was finally following my docs advice and pounding ibuprofen regularly for 2 weeks. Impingement is a swelling of tissue causing the bones to rub on the tendons. Pounding the ant inflammatory caused the swelling to go down, which stopped the rubbing which let it heal.

Damn. Where was this post six months ago?

Seriously, I have had just two doses since I read this and it's cut the pain in half and I have full motion again.

Yeah about week 4 or 5 of physical therapy not helping the pain I looked up what impingement actually was. I was just using the ibuprofen sparingly as needed when the pain got really bad. When I saw the whole issue was swelling I actually followed the instructions on the bottle and religiously used the 800mg pills on a reg schedule, pain or no pain. Less than 2 weeks later and I'm 100% fine. The PT was just to help the labrum tear stability, wasn't gonna do anything for the pain.

Also, if you do have to raise your arm much, try turning your palm up rather than down. It opens the shoulder up a bit so it doesn't rub.
