and this is for Nebraska's first visit to Rutgers. never in a million years did I think that Rutgers would join the B1G, play a traditionally great program in Nebraska with fans that travel the country and not sell the joint out.

Just got info from an inside source - RU ticket office had a bunch of returns and now only expects 35k....

Plenty of tix available...
This makes no sense to me. Since Nebraska only gets 3000 tickets that's the most they can return. I can guarantee you the school will announce mid to high 40's as that's what was sold. Remember, a lot of our fans bought extras. That being said, a better question is how many will actually be in the house.

It's a running joke about attendance on the board going back to before your time here.

Huskers just told me that a bunch of NU people are trying to dump their tickets. Between heading to Miami for the NU Miami game and both RU and NU not playing so hot they will "only" have 5000-7000 people. they have 700 people who RSVP'd for the alumni tailgate at the RAC. Apparently that is a low number for them. I was at the RU tailgate on Saturday in Ann Arbor, could not have been more than 200 people there.

I guess the whole "Nebraska fans travel the best in CFB" spiel is going to be put to the test. And by indications from this thread, it will fail.

First game I have absolutely no intention to go to since I graduated in 2006. Sad.

I'm hearing from my brother that there's a lot of unhappiness out there with both the football program and the athletic department.

Bah, they already travelled very well to Miami this year, we suck, they're 4-6, so not really your typical "trip" here.

Why? It should actually be pretty competitive (Im not joking - they arent that good.)

2 pretty bad teams..blahhh..plus I have to work on Saturday night and would have to leave early. (which I've done plenty of times in the past). Not worth it.

Not going to show up as if I like the direction the program is headed..sorry.
Gonna root like hell for the kids, but just not at the stadium this week.

Where's Huskers Always? I told him Kansas would be the homecoming game and hordes of Nebraska fans would not make that rip to NJ and was repeatedly ripped by him and others. No where to be found?

The old "somebody told me " prediction. Absolutely ridiculous and not credible - at least 49K sold.

LOL, no they're not "that good", BUT:

- beat #14 MSU (which we didn't) by rolling up 500 yards and 48 points
- lost by 2 points each to ranked Wisconsin and Northwestern teams
- we haven't come close (24/350 and losing is NOT the same...) to doing anything like that...

...so, yeah, odds are it's NOT going to be an overly "competitive" game but, hey, sometimes good things happen to us!

Looking at sk.com like I was for OSU and MSU, there will be a lot of Husker fans but no where near the amount of Ohio State fans that came for their game. Probably right around what we saw for MSU/Michigan. Also, there are many seats left on sk.com, plus StubHub. Students probably forgot we have a football team by now. Not looking like a great crowd.

I will probably be surrounded by Nebraska fans on the home side 40. Every friggin B1G game I've been surrounded by the visitors. To those who own the seats around me you SUCK. Next year when I travel to Ohio St. and Michigan St. I'm going to feel right at home.

Yea all 0.001% of Jersey want Flood out of town. The site to get Flood fired could not even raise $13K and yet some site raise some old guy who died raised over $15K for his burial services. As a matter of fact the fire Flood site got less then 160 donors where the old dead got got over 200? I guess only the posters here all 50-75 want to see Flood fired.
PUT UP OR SHUT UP well SHUT UP because NONE OF YOU PUT UP$ <$13K quite embarrassing BUT lord knows ink is cheap and you all love to ink Flood but none have the balls to put up what is needed to move up.

We are going to get smoked by Nebraska. End of story.

I went looking for a few extra tickets for my kids' friends, and people were practically begging me to take theirs for free. Far cry from the beginning of the season. And we expect Nebraska fans to travel here for this?

Vkj...

The student section only goes counted if the tickets are claimed. If they are not, the don't count as "sold"

The attendance for 2011 USF game was only on the upper 30s because there was a really really bad student turn out even though was normal everywhere else

So if students stay away in mass....we could have 7500 extra tickets not counted and the attendance could be in mid 30s instead of upper 40s

I understand but if you recall, That was a cold, rainy, miserable Saturday night game against USF. This will be a nice fall day with tailgating against Nebraska. Yes, they are down but still Nebraska. Plus we now sell student season tickets, not tons but I think close to 2000. I don't think the student section will be packed but they will show up albeit late.

Also going to miss this one. There was some date confusion with other plans that were made... and really, at this point, I'm actually okay missing the game for the other plans. Haven't written off the rest of this season, yet, but this whole year has been a gradual loss of motivation for me.

LOL that you're basing people's desire to have this moron as HC off a donation site that 80% of fan population has probably never heard of, and the rest didn't know was active, for crying out loud! Most people OFF of these boards wanted him gone 2 years ago. Now? It's not even close. Probably 90%, on and off the boards, want him gone today.

Oh my bad yea Nebraska fire a coach with over a 75% winning record. then ***** about the new guy can't come up with a winning season and they are paying HOW MUCH$$$
At least Rutgers is not as bad as Nebraska in that we will not spend million and millions to buy a coach out only to have the GREAT replacement flop.
HEY Rutgers fans lest Fire Flood and hire a Golden or Weis, or Fleck or all the other ****** unemployed coaches out there like Hoke or schiano.
Be happy Flood is saving us money and yet he is doing as well as Mike Riley.
I guess we have a smarter AD department then Nebraska. Don't figure?

Funny I did not see your +$1000 donation to boot Flood I am sure you knew where to find the site. They wanted to raise 1.5 million and could not come up with 1% of that[roll]
Like I said all the words you write and not one of you can back your boisterous rants. Ink is cheap, action$ is not

#1 Alabama was also playing #2 LSU at the same time which I'm sure kept some folks home.
