Will we schedule Wagner twice now?The Big Ten is strongly considering removing its requirement for league teams to play a P5 OOC team annually, starting in 2024 per Brett McMurphy.

As I’ve said for years on here that’s what I would want, more B1G games not less:It'll make it easier to make a bowl game for us, so works for me. That said I could potentially see the B1G eventually going to a 10 game schedule especially if they expand past USC/UCLA.
Maybe in the future but there's no advantage to us doing that right now. First we need to make sure we can win. THEN we can schedule whomever.I still think we should play our former Big East schools as much as possible on the OOC schedule and limit it to one buy game.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a 10 game schedule happens somewhere down the line. Another source to squeeze more money out of in a larger conference. It'll make it easier to make a bowl game for us, so works for me. I'll try to contain my dismay over that. This hurts nd
Who cares? The B1G can use the time on the couple of September weekends impacted by this to count up the tens of millions of additional $$$ they make, while the ACC is worrying about ratings. Will do wonders for B1G Nielsen Ratings.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!
Wagner sounds great, but much rather have a cupcake program with a great band insteadAt the moment, it helps us improve our season results to schedule as many winnable games as possible. 6-6 and a bowl game looks way better to recruits than 3-9. IMO, the details of whom we beat will have less weight with HS kids than the overall record.
Once we get some momentum in recruiting, we can toughen the schedule. And also, if the Big Ten eliminates the East/West divisions, we might wind up with slightly easier schedules in conference. But that's the future.
Right now, we need to improve results to improve recruiting.
So Wagner for all OOC games!![]()
If they want to continue playing the minor league teams and a bunch of ACC scrubs, that's on them. This hurts nd
I feel it's according to the conference schedule if cupcake games are good.No. Just more boring easy games. College football already has way too many non-competitive games. If you're good, you don't need easy games to pad your schedule. If you're bad, you'll get exposed eventually.
HBCU? Hookers and Blow for College Undergrads?Wagner sounds great, but much rather have a cupcake program with a great band instead
Heck Deion might even give RU a plug if it's a HBCU program![]()
If hookers and blow keeps them out of the portal , let the band play with some grass tooHBCU? Hookers and Blow for College Undergrads?
Can we get 2 FCS opponents and still qualify for a Bowl? The Big Ten is strongly considering removing its requirement for league teams to play a P5 OOC team annually, starting in 2024 per Brett McMurphy.

There really shouldn’t be a need to do this if it’s okay or not.Can we get 2 FCS opponents and still qualify for a Bowl?
If no leave it alone and continue to schedule the lower P5 teams.

i just want to start the season 4-0, have some optimism going into Game 5... and be competitive and surprise a game or two during the year.
The latter. So no OOC games or not required to be P5.
One will kill Greg the other will help.
Well, as I said earlier…if it were up to me I’d prefer a 10 game B1G schedule. But we’ll see if that ever happens.Yay?
never gonna be optimistic again ??That's not really the RU FB experience.
Absolutely- let’s rotate Pitt, WV, BC, SadexcuseI still think we should play our former Big East schools as much as possible on the OOC schedule and limit it to one buy game.
Be careful….you’ll get canceled with that kind of talkHBCU? Hookers and Blow for College Undergrads?
So , only graduate students are eligibleBe careful….you’ll get canceled with that kind of talk
This is being done because the SEC and ACC refuse to go to a 9 game schedule. It now levels the playing field a bit. Sorry, but when you have Alabama scheduling, Utah St., ULM and Austin Peay or LSU scheduling. Southern, New Mexico and UAB something needs to be done. Will do wonders for B1G Nielsen Ratings.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!
Huh? Everybody loves hookers and blow. Not understanding what is cancellable in what I wrote.Be careful….you’ll get canceled with that kind of talk
Isn't any different than what the SEC does with their early OOC and Game #11 cupcakes. In 2022....Greg is probably behind this (with his historically soft OOC schedules). I am against it since some of the best games are the early OOC match ups. It's the only way to compare where each conference is at the time. I understand with the playoffs that may not really matter anymore, but think it will change some minds for rankings on whether teams are in or not.
Not sure your point. Everyone is going to play mostly Non-P5 games. I just prefer us to play at least 1 P5 OOC game per year. The thought of attending another practice game makes me less likely to have to attend the game. I will always be there for the tailgate. Plus teams like Rutgers need to play quality games to get into the Top 12. Playing Howard and Hampton will never get us there unless we go undefeated in the B1G (which will never happen). I could care less about Bowl games once the expanded playoffs commence.Isn't any different than what the SEC does with their early OOC and Game #11 cupcakes. In 2022....
Syracuse played 1 P5 plus UConn and Wagner
BC played 1 P5 plus UConn and Maine
Maryland didn't play a P5 OOC
PSU played 1 P5 and 2 MACs
Rutgers played 1 P5 Wagner and Temple
It's not something Rutgers is doing that other programs aren't. It's the way teams schedule to their best advantage.
