Belichick bans UNC social media from posting about UNC alum Maye’s big win over Buffalo and other nonsense in Chapel Hill

Because of course Maye plays for the Patriots. He has gone totally off the rails. The team is in utter shambles and he is worrying about stuff like this and traipsing about Cape Cod with his girlfriend during a bye week? You just got your a** absolutely whipped by a team that totally called of the dogs after the first quarter, and you're worried about the school's social media account posting about a former player's success in the NFL?

Then you have current player Jordan Ship say he's not "here for a rebuild" but to win now, which is being taken by most to be a disconnect between Belichick and his players. Belichick has been open about considering the program to be in rebuild mode, saying that's they are telling recruits. Obviously, when things are not going well, comments like this are more magnified and people start to wonder if there is other meaning (e.g. I don't want to be part of a rebuild, so I'm gonna hit the portal).

I know the optics of firing a six time Super Bowl winning coach are pretty bad, but you have to wonder how long they can let this nonsense go on. It’s a total dumpster fire. Nothing is going well and he doesn't seem all that interested in it anyway. Of course, it’s fine with me. I don’t care about UNC one way or the other.

That's not going over very well amongst that constituency.

I know UNC football is a distinct afterthought to UNC basketball, but they are still a prestigious university. I have to wonder how long they'll debase their brand with this before pulling the plug. It's not just that the results are bad, but the whole thing has almost taken on a sideshow vibe at this point.

There were two ways this hire could go and Bedachick could be focused on coaching or focused on outside distractions.
A mid-season ''vacation'' is a clear indication of his focus.

Isn't his son Stephen the supposed coach-in-waiting?

There is absolutely no doubt at all this fake poster above would have leaped at the opportunity to replace our current staff with Belichick ("Xs and Os" coach) prior to his UNC stint.

It's a complete debacle to this point.

I, for one, was intrigued by the move and thought it was worth the hail Mary shot by UNC. It's not like they had a great football team that they were risking messing up. For me, it was worth the risk. If it worked out, it would be spectacular for them. If it didn't, oh well, nothing really was lost in the process.

What I didn't foresee, and what nobody could have predicted, is how bizarrely comical Belichick has treated the whole thing. He doesn't seem all that invested. Then you've got the crazy gf angle. Him using his position to try punishing the Patriots. I thought it would either work out very well or just be a disaster on the field, but based on how he conducted himself with the Patriots, nobody could have known the off-the-field circus that would ensue.

The hiring of Belichick may easily be remembered as the worst hire of any major program in CFB history. This has become not only a complete debacle, but an utter embarrassment of Brobdingnagian proportions.

At some point one would think he will come to the conclusion that a mistake was made and leave on his own accord.
