At this point no other coach deserves mention.

Cooley would have been on the list but he had a disastrous holiday weekend. And Willard's schedule has been a joke so far. So the Top 3 are obvious with 1 & 2 being interchangeable.

I'd have Willard third right now. The Villanova schedule hasn't been that difficult so far but overall it's been better than say Seton Hall's. And their close loss to BYU is better than anything on Butler's or Seton Hall's resume so far.

Yeah LaSalle and Old Dominion are better than NC State, USC, & Washington State. Cmon. These schedules are in different tiers right now.

Steve's correct when he says that Nova's loss was better than ours. But our victory over NCS was better by far than anything Nova has done to date.

And again Butler and SHU were the two bottom teams in the poll so for now I have both ahead of Nova.

Two quick points....

I've never liked COY discussions because seems like coaches are often penalized for being good coaches. For example, Coach K retired after the '21 season but hadn't won the award since '99-'00. Part of being a coach is building a roster that's capable of high expectations. I don't understand why that's discounted in the COY discussion.

Sidenote: I don't agree Nova's overall resume or SOS is materially better than Seton Hall's or Butler's. Virtually identical SOS, but Butler and The Hall have significantly better wins.

You forgot BYU for Villanova and that Queens, Sacred Heart, Duquesne, La Salle, and Old Dominion are better than Saint Peter's, Wagner, Fairfield, Monmouth, and New Haven.

Per KenPom, Villanova's schedule is ranked 260 vs. 331 for Seton Hall.

It's subjective and depends on which metric you quote. From a NET perspective Wagner would be Nova's *best* win. From a NET perspective SH has clearly played the better schedule.

Nova:
Q1: 0-1
Q4: 5-0

The Hall
Q1: 1-1
Q4: 6-0
