How about this for the biggest upset in championship game?
1969 - Reidsville 35, Mount Airy 12
Mount Airy was undefeated defending state champs and beat Reidsville in a September game 14-0.
Reidsville entered the game 9-3 but got it going in the second half of the season.

Don't know about upset....but the biggest surprise to me was in 2003 state title 2AA game when Reidsville destroyed Bandys 68-12.....Rams were favored but the margin was unexpected.....still the most points scored by 1 team in title history since they've been playing at the college sites.....game was played at NCSU............................

My dad stayed in the bathroom that whole game because the wind was so cold...

Ashbrook 2002, that team had no business being in the state title game, let alone winning it.

Should have been a trophy in the case in Boiling Springs oh well

Or in Asheville... Asheville pulled the upset at Crest in the 3rd rd, then laid a huge egg the next week at home against Ashbrook. Asheville should’ve won by 3-4 TD’s. The refs kept Ashbrook in it, and then turnovers and missed tackles in the last 2-3 min squandered the lead.
