Florida was in shambles. Tennessee was not good at all. Georgia was under performing and fired their coach. Vandy always sucks.

And we don't take any advantage of that and do nothing but let these teams rebuild.

Just think about i. What could have been with a great coaching hire.

Ive thought the same thing. Had we made this same football investment 5-7 years ago we could be at the top of the east. The east was really struggling and it was there for the taking. It still is kinda wide open but we've let UG, UT and UF get out in front for being the top dog. If we would have sunk $145 mil into facilities and $4 mil a year into a good coach 7 years ago we coulda been at the top IMO.

So three high profile jobs were possibly going to come up and you expected UK to get who exactly? You've been nothing but moan and complain for two weeks, hell, your avatar makes my head hurt.

Bobby. Simple answer. And what is an avatar? Though that was a movie.

But on the bright side we are playing good tonight.

We had a good coaching hire in Brooks but he could not even get a recruit room out the administration.
The traditional powerhouses in the East had been down for a decade, even Vandy had .500 in conference play years.
I fear we may not have struck while the fire was hot for a East shake-up.

Still wide open? I'm pretty sure it's been UGA, UT and FL for years and years at the top and I think it will always be that way for the most part. The best UK can do is hope for a run like SC had under Spurrier. We are never going to be at the top consistently due to other teams having better tradition, better recruits/players, better coaches, etc.

We could have done what Missouri did and still be doing it, if Brooks had stuck around.

UK could easily have been in Missouri's position, playing in Atlanta in consecutive seasons.

Kentucky can't beat FL and UT...never did under Brooks. That is 2 automatic losses a year my friend. Tough to win the east when you start out with 2 SEC losses each season.

Missouri annihilated UT and FL in 2013. I could never imagine UK beating one of those two by 19+, much less both in the same season. .Missouri beat FL by 29 in 2014, and won at UT by 8. Take away those two wins each season and Missouri doesn't win the east either season.

So excuse me if I don't believe the Brooks magically starts beating FL and UT theories .

Magic doesn't have anything to do with it. Opponents aren't of the same quality every year.

Doesn't matter what quality FL and UT are...they will always have better players and they always beat UK, with the exception of 2011 when a WR played QB for UK. UK has beaten the two a combined 1 time the last 30 years so excuse me why I don't buy the "we could have ruled the east if history was different' Rhetoric like you seem to.

Yep, it's all about striking while the fire is hot. Once it gets cold you are SOL.

We could have had Petrino and would be a fringe top 25 team at worst right now. He was the obvious choice. The guy wins at every college he goes to. It was our one chance to actually get an elite college coach. But no, less stay on our moral high horse while the rest of the SEC rams it in our ***. It's maddening watching UL have Bobby and be a top team, lose him and then be bad to decent, and then bring him back and go right back to winning and being better than they ever have.

Until we get an AD who doesn't bleed 7 days out of the month who will hire a good coach we will continue to be the worst team in the SEC.

Uhhh it was UF at the top through the Meyer years. That it. The east was UF then everyone else. UG and UT didn't do themselves any favors in trying to catch UF. UT especially with the be hires they made. Had we reached out for a big time coach when UT was in shambles it could have been us at the top. Sorry if u can't see that.
