Rename the school to "Mid Carolina Women's College" and stake our claim to being the dominant national power in women's college sports!
Yea, for a very, very, few that might make them happy, but even that is just a dream. I'd have settled for making it to the SEC championship game more than once in 33 years in the SEC.

Glad to see them continue to climb. SEC softball is a more difficult go than football. Gamecocks had a tough time breaking into the top half of the conference (but still frequented the ncaat).

I don't know if it is a more difficult go than football but the task is definitely formidable. Have you seen our football record? Even our 11-2 seasons only got us to what amounts to the "Tangerine or Citrus bowl" which is upper mid tier. Somehow, other teams with similar records routinely make it to Sugar, Cotton, Orange, Rose and Fiesta bowls. We have NEVER been to one of those. I think we hold that distinction with only Vanderbilt although they haven't been to citrus bowl either.

With the way the playoff system is set up now, I think it would be easier to win a natty in softball than make it to the sugar bowl. Just my opinion.

Iirc the bcs rules hosed us in the 11-2 seasons, especially 2012. There was a 2 team limit per conference, I think the 2012 team was the best of the group but that season about half the sec finished with at least 10 wins.

Regarding the softball thing vs football, probably not a definitive way to say. I started to type up some more thoughts but it got too long. Either way SEC is tops in both.
